She herself doesn&#8217;t\u200b have to worry about missing\u2064 a concert since she already \u200cattended\u200b one of the pop \u200bstar&#8217;s\u200c Bay Area shows.<\/p>\n<p>Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis led a union-sponsored <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitehere11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Letter-to-TS-Final.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.unitehere11.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/Letter-to-TS-Final.pdf&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1691173564337000&#038;usg=AOvVaw0Uho3zb27uWRoHgBZYIDgY\">open letter<\/a> from state Democrats urging Swift to postpone\u2062 her shows.\u2063 But just \u200dbefore advising the star to kick back her\u200b tour dates, Kounalakis\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/EleniForCA\/status\/1685729665657589760\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/twitter.com\/EleniForCA\/status\/1685729665657589760&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1691173564338000&#038;usg=AOvVaw3t8jvE3pOTcZXAu1dQb6EM\">posted<\/a> \u200c a photo and video of herself attending a Swift show in Santa \u200bClara,\u200d California, on \u2062July\u200d 30. Hotel workers were\u2064 protesting then, too. \u200bSwift added a sixth show \u200bto the L.A. portion of her wildly popular &#8220;Eras&#8221; tour, where she \u200dis slated to\u200d perform for an\u2063 estimated 420,000 fans\u2014some of whom \u2063have paid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/story\/2023-07-27\/explaining-the-complicated-world-of-ticketing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/story\/2023-07-27\/explaining-the-complicated-world-of-ticketing&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1691173564338000&#038;usg=AOvVaw26uT6brPfnzP2VDn58QGJK\">thousands<\/a> of dollars for tickets.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Your shows make our region\u2019s \u200bhotels \u200ba lot of money,&#8221; Kounalakis \u200dand her fellow Democrats wrote on \u2062letterhead for\u200c the union Unite Here&#8217;s L.A. chapter \u200creleased Tuesday.\u2064 &#8220;In Los Angeles, hotels \u200care \u2062doubling and tripling what they charge because you are coming.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Stand with hotel workers \u200cand postpone your concerts,&#8221; they\u2062 wrote.<\/p>\n<p>It \u200cis unclear how\u200c Swift could postpone\u200c at the last minute an\u2064 entire set of nearly sold-out shows. Swift&#8217;s U.S. tour extends through August and her international tour is scheduled through August 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Kounalakis&#8217;s demands are \u200can example of hypocrisy from state Democrats, critics say, and\u2062 follow on other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-nba-is-investigating-after-g-league-player-jeremy-lin-says-he-was-called-coronavirus-on-court\/\" title=\"The NBA Is Investigating After G-League Player Jeremy Lin Says He Was Called \u2018Coronavirus\u2019 On Court\">high-profile incidents<\/a> that have angered voters, such as Newsom&#8217;s decision to dine out at a five-star Napa Valley\u2064 restaurant in the midst of strict COVID\u200d lockdowns. Democrats &#8220;need to shake off the belief \u2063that they operate separate and above the rest of us,&#8221; said \u200bMatt \u2064Shupe, a California Republican strategist with Praetorian Public Relations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We knew \u200dthis was troubling behavior when Governor Newsom ate indoors at the French \u2063Laundry during the height\u200d of the pandemic and it\u200b doesn\u2019t seem like it will \u2064never, ever\u2063 get back to the non-hypocritical behavior we deserve,&#8221; Shupe said.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom was\u2064 caught maskless at \u200ba lobbyist\u2019s birthday dinner \u2064at the exclusive French Laundry restaurant in Napa even as he had the public under the \u2063nation\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-lieutenant-governor-asks-taylor-swift-to-postpone-l-a-concerts-for-workers-strike-shes-already-been-to-a-show\/\" title=\"CA Lt. Newsom and other Democrats were \u200balso <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/losangeles\/news\/another-image-of-newsom-not-wearing-mask-emerges-from-sundays-nfc-championship-game-at-sofi\/\">photographed<\/a> maskless\u2064 at an NFL championship game in Los Angeles when \u200dCalifornians were still ordered to cover their faces in public.<\/p>\n<p>Kounalakis was one of more than 50 Southern California Democrats who asked \u200bSwift to postpone her shows at a \u2063powerful union&#8217;s behest. Also signing the letter was Orange County&#8217;s state \u200bsenator Dave Min (D.), Rep. Katie Porter\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/bipartisan-group-of-55-florida-sheriffs-endorse-marco-rubios-senate-reelection-bid\/\" title=\"Bipartisan Group of 55 Florida Sheriffs Endorse Marco Rubio's Senate Reelection Bid\">hand-picked candidate<\/a> to replace her in the U.S. House of Representatives who in May was caught lying to a cop about how much \u2064he drank, \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/dave-min-dui-video\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according to video<\/a> of\u2063 his DUI arrest.<\/p>\n<p><span>Kounalakis defended the letter\u200c in a statement to the <em>Washington Free\u200b Beacon<\/em>. &#8220;All workers deserve dignity and fair wages,&#8221; she said, adding that she hopes &#8220;we can use this moment to bring \u200battention to the hardworking men and women \u2064who are the \u200dengine of our economy.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 Los Angeles chapter of Unite Here, which organized the strike and the letter, has <a href=\"https:\/\/dbsearch.sos.ca.gov\/ContributorDetail.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">contributed<\/a> \u2062more\u200d than $1.3 million to California \u200dDemocrats since 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Kounalakis\u200d is the only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dem-california-lieutenant-governor-asks-taylor-swift-to-postpone-l-a-concerts-to-support-striking-hotel-workers-shes-already-been-to-a-show\/\" title=\"CA Lt.
