Swift\u2063 added\u200d a sixth show to the L.A. portion of her wildly popular &#8220;Eras&#8221; tour, \u200cwhere she\u2062 is slated to perform for an estimated 420,000\u2062 fans\u2014some of whom have paid <a href=\"https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/story\/2023-07-27\/explaining-the-complicated-world-of-ticketing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.latimes.com\/entertainment-arts\/story\/2023-07-27\/explaining-the-complicated-world-of-ticketing&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1691173564338000&#038;usg=AOvVaw26uT6brPfnzP2VDn58QGJK\">thousands<\/a> of dollars for\u200d tickets.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Your shows make our region\u2019s hotels a lot of\u200b money,&#8221; Kounalakis and her \u2062fellow \u200dDemocrats \u200cwrote on letterhead for the union Unite Here&#8217;s \u2064L.A. chapter released Tuesday.\u200d &#8220;In Los Angeles, hotels are doubling and tripling what they charge because you are coming.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Stand with hotel workers and postpone your\u200c concerts,&#8221; they wrote.<\/p>\n<p>It\u200c is\u200b unclear how Swift could postpone at the last minute an entire set of nearly\u200b sold-out shows. Swift&#8217;s\u200d U.S. tour extends through August and \u2064her international tour is \u2062scheduled through\u200b August 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Kounalakis&#8217;s demands are an example of hypocrisy from \u200bstate Democrats, critics say, and \u2064follow on \u2064other high-profile\u2062 incidents that have angered\u200b voters, such as Newsom&#8217;s\u200c decision to dine out at \u200da five-star Napa\u2063 Valley restaurant\u2063 in the midst of strict COVID lockdowns. Democrats &#8220;need \u2062to shake\u2064 off the belief that they operate separate and above\u200c the \u200drest of \u200cus,&#8221; said Matt Shupe, a California Republican strategist with Praetorian Public\u200d Relations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We \u2064knew\u2062 this was troubling behavior when Governor Newsom\u200b ate indoors at the\u200d French Laundry during the height of\u2062 the pandemic and \u2064it \u200cdoesn\u2019t seem like it will never, ever get back to the non-hypocritical behavior we deserve,&#8221; Shupe said.<\/p>\n<p>Newsom was caught maskless \u200bat a\u200d lobbyist\u2019s birthday dinner at the exclusive \u2063French Laundry restaurant in Napa even\u2062 as he had the public under the nation\u2019s \u2063<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-lieutenant-governor-asks-taylor-swift-to-postpone-l-a-concerts-to-workers-strike-shes-already-been-to-a-show\/\" title=\"CA Lt. She's attended one already.\">strictest pandemic lockdown \u2062orders<\/a>.\u2064 Newsom and other\u2062 Democrats were also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/losangeles\/news\/another-image-of-newsom-not-wearing-mask-emerges-from-sundays-nfc-championship-game-at-sofi\/\">photographed<\/a> \u200c maskless at an NFL championship game in Los Angeles when Californians were still ordered to cover their\u2064 faces in public.<\/p>\n<p>Kounalakis was one of\u200b more than 50 Southern California Democrats who asked Swift \u200cto\u200b postpone her \u200bshows at a powerful union&#8217;s behest. Also signing the \u2062letter was Orange County&#8217;s state senator Dave Min (D.), Rep.
