The speakers stood in unison, calling on Tennessee Governor Bill Lee, Nashville Metro Police Department, and \u2063the FBI to release the documents.<\/p>\n<h3>Speaking as a Concerned Mother<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to speak to\u2064 you as somebody \u200bwho is a political \u200dcommentator today,\u201d Owens <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=khmvsC25vok\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">said<\/a>. \u201cI \u200breally want to speak to you as somebody who \u200cis an expecting mother and a mother to two young children \u2014 a two-year-old \u200cand a one-year-old \u2014 about what\u200d I think we all felt in this community that morning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On March 27, \u200d2023,\u200c the shooter, a trans-identifying \u200b28-year-old woman whom The Daily Wire is not naming to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/open-the-manifesto-candace-owens-joins-coalition-demanding-authorities-release-covenant-school-shooters-writings\/\" title=\"Candace Owens joins call to release writings of Covenant School shooter.\">avoid \u2063giving notoriety<\/a> to shooters, went on a\u2062 rampage inside The Covenant School, a Presbyterian-affiliated pre-K-6 school, where she killed six people, including three\u2063 9-year-olds \u2014 Evelyn Dieckhaus, 9; Hallie Scruggs, 9; William Kinney, 9 \u2014 and three staff members \u2014 headmaster Katherine Koonce, 60; Cynthia \u200cPeak, 61; and Mike Hill, 61.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt happened really right in my \u200dbackyard, and I was behind\u2063 that school just 13 minutes before the shooter was there,\u201d Owens said. \u201cSo\u2064 this\u2064 literally hit home for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Within about 14 minutes after the initial 911 call was \u200breceived, two responding Nashville Metro Police officers \u200dshot and killed the suspect.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe saw acts of heroism that I think are rarely displayed today, \u200despecially \u2063in the climate of cowardice that exists,\u201d Owens said. \u201cIt was a climate of\u2064 cowardice that\u2064 permitted that \u2064individual to\u2064 execute such a horrific crime against\u2062 young children, of course, but \u2062the answer to that cowardice was extreme heroism, and we need more heroism in this society.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Little is publicly known about the killer\u2019s motive, but within\u200b hours after the mass shooting occurred, federal and local authorities searched her property and found five laptops, a suicide note, two memoirs, five Covenant School yearbooks, and seven cellphones, according to a search\u2063 warrant. Authorities later found more writings inside the shooter\u2019s \u2063vehicle \u2063left in the Covenant School parking \u200clot.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE \u200bDAILY WIRE APP<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/who-else-do-you-want-to-loot-sen-cruz-destroys-progressive-leader-over-elon-musk-attacks\/\" title=\"\u2018Who Else Do You Want To Loot?\u2019: Sen. Cruz Destroys Progressive Leader Over Elon Musk Attacks\">long-standing tradition<\/a> of U.S. law enforcement \u2063to release the\u200d manifesto of a school mass shooter when it is recovered by authorities \u2014 typically within 48 hours of the tragedy. But after months of withholding the documents from the public, there \u2063is\u2063 growing \u2064speculation that the shooter\u2019s so<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/brett-favre-blasts-olympics-allowing-trans-athletes-to-compete-against-women-its-a-man-competing-as-a-woman\/\" title=\"Brett Favre Blasts Olympics Allowing Trans Athletes To Compete Against Women: \u2018It\u2019s A Man Competing As A Woman\u2019\">-called gender identity<\/a> has corrupted\u2063 the official\u2019s judgment from being transparent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen it \u2062was \u2062a transgender individual who \u2063committed that shooting \u2014 in this particular instance \u2014 they have chosen, without explanation, not to release it and \u200deven to renege \u200bagainst a prior commitment\u200c to release it; that does not build trust,\u201d Ramaswamy said.<\/p>\n<p>Nashville Metro Police initially claimed they would release the writings, but have since balked due to an ongoing investigation involving the Federal Bureau \u2064of Investigation while battling \u200ba number of\u2064 lawsuits filed against \u2064the local law enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Some documents obtained by \u2064law enforcement indicated the \u2064shooter had been planning a massacre at the \u200dprivate Christian\u200b elementary school for months and considered \u201cthe actions of other mass murderers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Daily \u2062Wire and a \u200bhost of other organizations have sought access, through Freedom of \u200cInformation Act \u2063requests, to a collection\u200b of \u2062her\u200b writings that has\u200d been referred to\u200c as a \u201cmanifesto.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>School officials and a group of \u2062parents \u2014 including the shooter\u2019s \u2014 have requested that the\u200b writings remain private, citing safety concerns for their \u2064families and school \u2062staff while arguing they have rights as victims \u200cunder the Tennessee Constitution that supersede the open records law. But organizations, including the National Police Association, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/police-groups-lawyer-demands-release-of-nashville-shooters-manifesto-as-parents-balk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">argue<\/a> that Tennessee state law requires authorities to release the manifesto to the\u200d public.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe, of \u2063course, understand that portions may have to be redacted for \u200cwhatever reason,\u201d Owens said. \u201cBut redact those portions\u200c and allow us to examine it because what happened here in my backyard still haunts me today \u2064\u2026 as a mother \u2026 as\u2064 an American citizen. And I know I\u2019m not the only \u200bperson that it haunts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the months following the mass shooting, 66 Republican lawmakers sent a letter to\u200b the chief of\u200d the \u200cNashville Metro Police requesting \u201cthe release of \u2064the perpetrator\u2019s writings\u200c as well \u200das relevant medical records and toxicology reports.\u201d Richard \u2062Hollow, who represents The Tennessean, and state Sen. Todd \u2064Gardenhire, \u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsnationnow.com\/crime\/nashville-school-shooting\/ramaswamy-calls-release-nashville-shooters-manifesto\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reportedly<\/a> said that parents of the students should look to change the law to keep the records from\u200c going \u2064public.<\/p>\n<p>Still, in her plea for transparency about the\u200d Covenant School shooting, Owens said\u200b she hopes that what happened in Nashville is not forgotten.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis\u200d happens to the most vulnerable \u2064people in our nation,\u201d she said. \u201cThis happens at an elementary school. We are not going to forget \u200dthis in Nashville.
