But the group&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/no-labels-no-cash-third-party-ballot-access-group-raised-zero-dollars-in-first-six-months-of-2023\/\" title=\"Third-party ballot access group raised no funds in first half of 2023.\">latest filings raise questions<\/a> about whether\u2062 that \u2064panic is warranted. The ballot access group during the first six months of 2023 spent less than \u200c$1\u2063 million, money that \u2064mostly went to a single firm for consulting fees. The filings did not include the group&#8217;s cash on hand.<\/p>\n<p>Much of the\u200c Left&#8217;s fears surrounding No Labels hinges\u2064 on a single, <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/elections\/why-no-labels-may-have-no-cash-and-no-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unvetted claim<\/a>: that the group is prepared to \u200cspend $70 million in 2024\u200d on a third-party candidate. \u2062But the source of that number is a\u2063 single September 2022 <em>New York Times<\/em> column, and \u2063No Labels has repeatedly \u2064refused to answer whether it has anything even close to that amount of money. As of the end of 2021, the group controlled just $10 million.<\/p>\n<p>Senior advisers to President \u2064Joe Biden nonetheless met with No Labels in June\u200c to demand the group shut down its political operation. No\u2064 Labels has provided its own polling \u2064to argue\u2063 that a third-party bid may \u2064not help Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The group&#8217;s\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-says-hed-give-ukraine-more-than-they-ever-got-if-russias-putin-doesnt-accept-peace-deal\/\" title=\"Trump promises Ukraine greater support if Putin rejects peace deal.\">political \u2063action committee<\/a>, No Labels 2024, does not appear to be in healthy fiscal shape either. \u2064Its latest Federal Election Commission filings show\u2062 it raised just under $1.5 million from\u200c the start of the year to\u2064 the end of June and spent only \u2062$100,000 of that in six months\u2014hardly the potential nine-figure war chest necessary to invest in a serious presidential campaign.<\/p>\n<p>No Labels&#8217; lack of both funds and a presidential candidate has not stopped a deluge of reports on the group&#8217;s activities as \u2062an existential threat\u2062 to Biden. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/07\/15\/electoral-college-third-party-democrats-00106472\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Politico<\/em><\/a>  reported last month on \u2063the &#8220;third-party nightmare for Democrats&#8221; and the &#8220;major threat to Biden&#8221; that groups such \u200cas No Labels pose. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2023\/07\/22\/1189362839\/no-labels-americans-elect-third-party\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NPR<\/a> echoed that framing in its \u2062own \u2064report about the &#8220;consternation\u200c in some quarters about \u2063the impact [No Labels] could have in a close election.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Neither No Labels \u2062nor \u2064the leader of Insurance Policy for America responded to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>As of July, No Labels has \u200cgained ballot access in just four states.\u2063 The group has not\u2064 named\u2064 who would lead its third-party\u200b bid, although Sen.
