The RNC is \u200bincreasing the \u200bdonor and polling criteria for the Sept. 27 debate in Simi Valley, California, which could significantly narrow the field, as many\u2063 have already struggled to meet the first debate\u2062 requirements, Politico reported Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify for the second debate,\u2063 candidates must now \u200dsurpass a 50,000 unique donor threshold, with at\u2063 least 200\u200c coming \u200cfrom 20 \u2063states or territories, within 48 hours of\u2063 taking\u2064 the stage, according to Politico.<\/p>\n<p>The RNC\u200d will \u2064also require the 2024 hopefuls to receive a minimum of 3 percent support in two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-addresses-media-narratives-his-campaign-has-struggled\/\" title=\"DeSantis dismisses media's claims of campaign struggles.\">national primary polls<\/a>, or 3 percent in one national poll and in two key early primary state polls \u2014 Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada or South Carolina, according\u200b to Politico. For the first \u2062debate, candidates only \u2063had\u200b to\u200d hit 1 percent\u2062 in three national polls,\u200b or 1 percent\u200c in two national polls\u200c and \u2064in one <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republican-national-committee-adds-new-criteria-for-second-debate-that-will-likely-knock-out-some-candidates\/\" title=\"RNC introduces stricter criteria for second debate, potentially excluding certain candidates.\">key early primary state poll<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The surveys \u200bmust be recognized by the RNC, as required by the first debate criteria, including \u2062having a sample\u200b size of at least\u200c 800 likely Republican primary voters and not conducted by polling firms\u200c affiliated with any GOP presidential candidate,\u200d according to Politico.
