The concept of implicit bias suggests\u2062 that doctors \u2062may treat patients differently based on these characteristics, leading to disparities in \u2064healthcare.<\/p>\n<p>All California doctors must complete 50 hours of continuing education every two years to renew their \u200clicenses.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit argues that the requirement forces physicians to adopt an ideology without evidence-based consensus on the effectiveness of such \u2063trainings. It also cites \u2063evidence showing that these trainings can cause counterproductive anger and frustration among participants.<\/p>\n<p>The \u200dsuit challenges the law on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/overplayed-their-hand-dershowitz-rips-dems-impeachment-effort\/\" title=\"\u2018Overplayed Their Hand\u2019: Dershowitz Rips Dems\u2019 Impeachment Effort\">free speech grounds<\/a>, asserting that the government cannot compel speakers to engage in discussions on \u2062controversial topics or condition their ability to offer courses for credit based\u2062 on espousing \u2064the government&#8217;s favored view.<\/p>\n<p>The plaintiffs are represented by the Pacific Legal Foundation,\u200d whose attorney Caleb Trotter argues that the training fails to consider each medical case in the context of the \u200cpatient&#8217;s individual conditions. He adds that the training tells doctors to prioritize a patient&#8217;s immutable characteristics, regardless of their relevance\u200b to the \u200cpatient&#8217;s treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Both Dr. Singleton and Dr. Azadeh Khatibi, a\u2064 Los Angeles ophthalmologist, have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-sued-by-doctors-over-implicit-bias-dei-training-requirements\/\" title=\"Doctors in California file lawsuit against state over mandatory 'implicit bias' DEI training.\">taught continuing medical education courses<\/a> for years and are concerned that the California law would force them to teach the content.<\/p>\n<p>DNH, as a membership organization, is joining the lawsuit on behalf of its California \u200dmembers who oppose \u200bincluding the content in their continuing education sessions.
