It demonstrated the ability to deduce solutions using rational thoughts and \u2063logical\u2063 examples.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, ChatGPT scored &#8220;better than\u2062 the \u2062average score \u200bfor humans&#8221; when\u2062 answering analogy questions from \u200dthe \u2064SAT, as\u200b reported by\u200b the researchers.<\/p>\n<p>While the\u200d program&#8217;s\u200c performance is impressive, concerns have \u2062been raised by Furman University assistant\u200b philosophy professor Darren Hick. \u200cHe \u200bworries that AI programs like ChatGPT will eventually\u200b produce work that is indistinguishable from human work.<\/p>\n<p>Senior study author and UCLA psychology professor Hongjing Lu acknowledged \u2064Hick&#8217;s concerns, stating, &#8220;Surprisingly, not only did GPT-3 perform as well as humans, but it also made similar\u200d mistakes.\u2063 Language learning \u2062models are\u200c just\u200c trying to\u2062 do word prediction, so we&#8217;re surprised they can do reasoning.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Co-author Keith Holyoak expressed interest in further investigating how ChatGPT \u2062learns and receives information, stating,\u200b &#8220;GPT-3 might be kind of \u2063thinking like \u200da human. We&#8217;d like \u2063to know if it&#8217;s\u2063 really \u2062doing it the way people do, or if\u200c it&#8217;s something brand new \u2014 a real artificial intelligence \u2014 which would be amazing\u2062 in its own right.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This study\u2063 highlights ChatGPT&#8217;s significant progress in natural language\u2064 understanding, opening\u200c up\u200d possibilities for \u2063its application in customer service, content generation, and \u2064academic research.<\/p>\n<p>Although the program continues to improve, it may still provide incorrect\u200c or nonsensical answers. OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, acknowledges these instances as areas for improvement and is actively working to enhance the model&#8217;s capabilities.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to note that the research primarily used\u200b ChatGPT-3, not the newer\u2064 and more advanced ChatGPT-4 model.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
