Wittman: Energy Prices Increasing if Russia Invades Isn't the Price of Democracy, It's 'The Outcome of Failed Policies' by Biden\">gas prices surging<\/a>, the \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/buttigieg-buy-55000-electric-car-dont-worry-gas-prices-anymore\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden administration<\/a> has been relentlessly urging Americans to switch to electric vehicles as an alternative, with the supposed added benefit of\u200c being able to\u200c stop climate\u200d change.<\/p>\n<p>The idea behind this push seems to be that it \u2062is cheaper to charge an electric vehicle \u2063than it is \u200cto fuel a\u200d car in the current economy. Thus, Americans who use EVs \u200bcan rest assured \u2062that they do \u2063not have to worry about the price of \u200cgas.<\/p>\n<p>However, a \u200dnew \u200creport is bringing all of that into question,\u2063 suggesting that it may\u2063 in fact be more \u200cexpensive\u2064 to charge an\u2063 electric \u2063vehicle.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>The Cost Comparison<\/h3>\n<p>On Tuesday, the publication <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/ev-charging-cost-versus-gas-car-truck-suv-2023-7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Insider<\/a> published a report that took a look at four \u2064different\u200d types of \u2063cars \u2014 trucks, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotcars.com\/what-makes-cars-<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/junior-bankers-at-goldman-sachs-claim-inhumane-work-conditions-abuse-in-new-survey\/\" title=\"Junior Bankers At Goldman Sachs Claim \u2018Inhumane\u2019 Work Conditions, \u2018Abuse\u2019 In New Survey\">entry-level<\/a>\/#it-s-the-middle-ground-of-cars&#8221; target=&#8221;_blank&#8221; rel=&#8221;noopener&#8221;>entry-level<\/a> \u200c cars, \u2063luxury cars, and mid-level cars\u200c \u2014 to see\u200b how \u2062much\u200d it cost to fuel them compared to the cost of \u200bcharging them.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2064results are bound to\u2062 disappoint \u200bthose who have jumped on the \u201celectric vehicles \u2064are cheaper to power\u201d bandwagon.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trucks roughly cost the same to fuel and\u200c charge, with \u200bthe \u2062average cost of fueling \u200da truck coming between \u200c$17.10 to\u2063 $17.58 for every 100 miles,\u200d whereas charging the truck at home costs $17.72 for every 100 miles, according\u200b to Insider.\u2063 However, the \u2062cost to charge soars \u2064to $26.38 per 100\u200d miles when charging in \u2062public.<\/li>\n<li>Entry-level and mid-level vehicles each cost more to charge than they did to fuel. Fueling \u200ban entry-level vehicle costs about $9.78 for every 100\u200d miles,\u2064 and\u2062 charging \u200cit \u200dcosts $12.55 at home, and nearly $16 in public. Mid-level cars\u2064 cost $11.08 per \u200b100 miles\u200b to \u200cfuel, $12.62 to charge\u200b at home, and $16.10 \u2064to charge in \u200bpublic.<\/li>\n<li>Luxury vehicles presented an interesting case, as it costs less to charge at home than it does to\u200c fuel them. Fueling a luxury vehicle\u2064 costs about $17.56 for \u200bevery 100 miles, $13.50\u200b to charge at home and $17.81 to charge in public.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In short, unless you\u200b are lucky enough\u200d to own a luxury \u200cvehicle, it would \u200ccost you about the same or even more to charge a vehicle as it does to \u200bfuel one. Even if you do own \u200da luxury\u2062 vehicle, charging it in\u200d public costs more than fueling it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This is not the\u200c first\u2064 report to suggest this. In\u2064 October 2022, energy analyst <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/energy-analyst-says-ev-adoption-will-hit-brick-wall-people-realize-charging-can-expensive-gas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bill \u200dCinnamon<\/a> said that it could cost consumers roughly the same amount of \u2063money to charge vehicles as it is to fuel them.<\/p>\n<p>Motorists have found out the \u200bhard way just \u2064how expensive it can\u2064 be to charge \u2063the vehicle, with some drivers finding their bill \u200cfor a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-study-most-electric-vehicles-cost-more-to-charge-than-filling-up-a-car-with-gas\/\" title=\"Study: Electric Cars Often More Expensive to Charge Than Gasoline Cars\">charging session coming close<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/man-stunned-sees-bill-charging-hummer-ev-wont-believe-much-costs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$100 dollars<\/a>!<\/p>\n<p>This is hardly the affordable alternative \u2062to expensive \u200bgas \u200dthat\u2063 we are often \u200btold about by the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>This revelation is only compounded by the fact that purchasing an \u2063electric vehicle in the \u200cfirst place is very expensive. \u2062With \u2062some paying upwards\u200b of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/electric-hummers-selling-100000-list-price-wait-list-tops-77000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$200,000<\/a> to get their hands on one, they are out of\u2062 reach for most Americans.<\/p>\n<p>In the\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/corrupt-media-pollsters-are-using-dishonest-tactics-to-drag-america-into-war\/\" title=\"Corrupt Media Pollsters Are Using Dishonest Tactics To Drag America Into War\">current economic climate<\/a>, electric vehicles are expensive, both \u200cto purchase and \u200bto power.
