Notably, she has\u2064 previously defended rioters from protests in\u2062 the summer of 2020, \u200bdrawing a distinction\u2062 between their actions and the rioters at the Capitol building on \u2063January 6, 2021.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;People gathered all over the \u2063country last year to protest the violent murder by the police of an unarmed man. In contrast, the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, \u200dcaused an estimated $2.73 million in damage and led to\u2063 the death of one rioter and injuries to several others.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth \u2062noting that Judge Chutkan, appointed by President Barack Obama, has \u2062gained\u200c a reputation for handing \u200cdown lengthy sentences\u200c to \u2062defendants \u2062implicated in the Capitol riot.\u2064 Additionally, records indicate that she has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ftx-bankruptcy-lawyers-reveal-how-much-they-have-clawed-back-for-defrauded-investors\/\" title=\"FTX Bankruptcy Lawyers Reveal How Much They Have Clawed Back For Defrauded Investors\">made political donations<\/a>\u200d to Obama\u200d and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY).<\/p>\n<h3>The Indictment of Donald Trump<\/h3>\n<p>Following\u200c an investigation\u200c by special\u200b counsel Jack\u2062 Smith, a grand jury in\u2064 the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia\u200d indicted\u200d Donald Trump on four counts: conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to obstruct an \u200cofficial proceeding, obstruction of and attempt to obstruct an official \u200dproceeding, and conspiracy against rights.<\/p>\n<p>Trump is\u200d scheduled\u2062 to appear before Magistrate \u2062Judge Moxila \u200cA.
