Tom Cotton (R-AR) did not hold back in his criticism\u200c of special counsel Jack Smith&#8217;s latest\u200c indictment against former President Donald Trump. In an appearance on The\u2062 Ingraham\u2063 Angle, Cotton referred to the indictment as a &#8220;diatribe&#8221; that resembled something one would expect from an MSNBC producer.<\/p>\n<h3>Charges Against Trump<\/h3>\n<p>Smith announced \u2064on Tuesday that Trump was\u2064 charged with four\u200c counts related to alleged efforts to subvert the 2020 election and \u200ddisrupt the peaceful transfer of power during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.<\/p>\n<h3>Cotton \u200cRejects Indictment<\/h3>\n<p>Cotton vehemently rejected the legitimacy of the indictment, \u200cemphasizing that the\u200c activities Trump engaged in were constitutionally protected political activities and free speech, as guaranteed \u200cby the First Amendment.
