We\u2019re all \u2063used to the predictable narratives at this \u2063point. Most of it\u2019s just\u2064 noise. But the other day, there was a very notable exception to this \u2063general rule.<\/p>\n<p>An article published by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/asian-america\/race-change-to-another-trend-online-rcna93759\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC News<\/a>, of all places, just\u200d blew up the entire narrative \u200dof transgenderism. Out\u200b of nowhere, NBC came out with a well-researched, in-depth piece \u2064that completely debunks the entire concept \u2014 eradicates the whole ideology,\u2064 you might even say. They even quote\u2062 several all-important experts\u2063 at\u200c prestigious universities, who concur that the madness needs to end. That\u2019s right \u2014 after years of insisting that anyone can change their gender at \u2064will, simply by wishing it, they\u2019ve given\u2063 up. Sanity has prevailed. Not since \u2062NBC News aired Katie Couric\u2019s colonoscopy, live \u200bon air, has the network produced content so unexpected and jarring. Yet it is a very welcome departure from the norm. I mean this article is welcome, not the colonoscopy.<\/p>\n<h3>A Surprising Revelation<\/h3>\n<p>Now, to be clear, as you might have guessed by now, NBC News published this\u200d in-depth analysis without realizing what they were doing. Self-awareness, as ever,\u2064 is in short supply in the \u2062mainstream media. But there\u2019s no denying that\u2019s what they did: they obliterated, point-by-point, any \u200blogical argument in favor \u2062of\u200d transgenderism.<\/p>\n<p>How did they do it? The piece in question is on NBC News\u2019 website\u200d right\u2062 now. It\u2019s headlined, \u201cInside the online \u2064world of people who think\u200c they can change their race.\u201d The \u200carticle is, apparently, intended to disprove\u200b the idea that you can\u2064 \u201copt into\u201d\u2064 another racial category. And along the way, accidentally, every argument from NBC News and their \u201cthought leaders\u201d\u2062 ends up refuting the idea that people can change their gender too.<\/p>\n<p>The piece begins by describing a teenager living in Maryland who thinks she\u2019s transforming into a Japanese woman. She\u2019s changed her name. She also thinks\u2062 that, just by wishing it, her\u2062 hair is getting\u200d darker, \u2064her eyelids are \u2063getting smaller, et cetera.<\/p>\n<p>Right away, the\u200b keen observer might\u200c note, that sounds exactly like the lingo \u200bthat trans activists use. According to NBC, this girl also watches videos like this one, apparently to help her \u2018transition\u2019 proceed at some mental \u200blevel. Here\u2019s the video, but be forewarned that it might turn you Asian \u2063apparently:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Well I don\u2019t know about \u2064you but I\u2019m feeling \u2064more Japanese already.<\/p>\n<p>Now, any sane person might\u200c look at that clip and conclude that it\u2019s crazy \u2014 and that anyone who watches this, thinking it changes \u2062their race, is delusional. Case closed.<\/p>\n<p>But at NBC News, they weren\u2019t ready to move on so quickly. This is something of a\u200b sensitive subject for\u2062 them. They\u2019ve spent the last few years telling us that anyone \u2062can change their gender at will.\u200b So, they understand that they have to respond to the obvious question, which is: why shouldn\u2019t \u2064we affirm the \u2062identity of this teenage trans-Japanese girl? She says she\u2019s Japanese. She \u2064watched a few YouTube videos and maybe even bought a kimono or two.\u200d She \u2062feels more at home, more herself, in her Japanese identity. She recognizes inside \u200cherself her innate Japanese-ness. Why isn\u2019t that good enough? Who are \u2064we to\u2064 deny\u2064 her lived experience? Who \u2064are we to reject her truth?<\/p>\n<p>Well, here\u2019s the crux of NBC News\u2019 argument, \u201cExperts agree race is \u2063not genetic. But they contend that even \u2062though race is a cultural construct, it is impossible to change your race because of the systemic inequalities\u200c inherent to\u2063 being born into a certain race.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Think about what \u200cthey wrote\u200d for more than two\u200d seconds, and the logic falls apart. They\u2019re saying you can\u2019t change your race because there \u2064are \u201csystemic inequalities inherent to being born into\u201d certain races. But \u200dwait a minute. Aren\u2019t these the same experts who tell us that women live under the\u2063 thumb of the patriarchy \u2014 that they can\u2019t even earn an honest living because of how sexist \u2064our society is? That sounds a lot like \u201csystemic inequality.\u201d And yet\u200b they have no \u2063problem with men deciding to identify as women, \u200ddespite all the \u201csystemic inequality\u201d women have allegedly \u2064endured.\u200b Why is that?<\/p>\n<p>The NBC piece doesn\u2019t say, which \u2063is strange, because they\u2019ve had a lot of time to prepare for this question. Remember when they destroyed Rachel Dolezal a few years \u200dago? She claimed to be black, and she drove them \u200dabsolutely crazy because they had no way of refuting it. Here was Matt \u2063Lauer\u2019s attempt at taking her\u200c down:<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Notice Matt Lauer uses all these \u201ctransphobic\u201d \u200darguments to disprove Rachel Dolezal\u2019s claim that she\u2019s black. \u200bFirst, he confronts her with a photo of her in her teenage years. \u2063He suggests that because she \u2063was\u200b white then, she can\u2019t possibly be\u200b black now.\u2063 Matt Lauer then\u2063 calls in Dolezal\u2019s parents, who deny her lived experience as a black woman. We\u2019re meant to take\u2064 that as proof that Dolezal is lying.<\/p>\n<p>So why exactly aren\u2019t we allowed \u2064to refute transgenderism on the same basis? Why exactly can\u2019t we show photos of William Thomas, before he started pretending to be a female swimmer, as proof that he\u2019s \u2062really a man? Why aren\u2019t we \u200csupposed to call the \u2064parents of transgender activists, and ask them what gender their kid \u2062really is?<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Matt Lauer and NBC \u200dNews didn\u2019t resolve that question. But now NBC\u200b is intent on addressing it, because \u2063there\u2019s a lot more Rachel Dolezals coming out of the woodwork all of a sudden.\u200b And\u2063 that\u2019s a big problem for the trans \u2063movement. They \u200ddesperately don\u2019t want you to apply the incoherent logic of \u201ctransgenderism\u201d in order to justify \u201ctrans-racialism.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s clear why that is, and in a moment\u200d I\u2019ll get to that. But for now let\u2019s focus on NBC\u2019s argument, such \u2062as \u2063it is. NBC News called in\u200d a series of experts for their article. Unfortunately for\u200c NBC, \u200devery single one of \u200bthem managed to accidentally undercut the trans argument even further.<\/p>\n<p>They quoted a trans activist \u2063named Tiq Milan, for example, who objects to \u201ctrans-racialism\u201d\u2062 on the grounds that people \u200cwith fetishes are into it. \u200bCan you imagine? Milan says, \u201cIt\u2019s not just putting on the\u2064 hair and the makeup\u2064 and talking and walking \u200d [in] \u200d a kind of way. That is fetishizing, and \u2063it\u2019s objectifying, \u200cand it reduces the beautiful and \u2062complicated cultures of \u2063people of color.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In other words, going full Trudeau and\u200c layering on the blackface doesn\u2019t\u2064 make you black; in\u200b fact it fetishizes and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/candace-owens-why-the-american-education-system-is-systematically-producing-failures\/\" title=\"CANDACE OWENS: Why The American Education System Is Systematically Producing Failures\">targets black people<\/a> in a way that\u2019s totally\u200c inappropriate. That seems intuitive enough.\u2062 But strangely \u2063enough, the expert did not condemn\u2064 autogynephiles who dress up as women for the sole purpose of \u2064arousal \u200dand debasing women. Why not? NBC News was, again, silent on that point.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s pause for a second.\u2062 You might be\u2063 wondering whether this article was a kind of \u201ccry for help\u201d from deep within the bowels of NBC News. And honestly, it might be. The author of the piece is a college student at the University of Pennsylvania who\u2019s \u200dcurrently interning at the \u2064network. This intern is majoring in philosophy. Why would \u200bNBC News assign a college kid \u200dto write their big takedown of \u2018trans-racialism\u2019? Who knows. \u200dMaybe they \u200dgot played.<\/p>\n<p>Either way, it\u2019s entertaining.<\/p>\n<p>And the more you\u200b read, the better it gets. At one point, the \u200bpiece tries to rebut the idea that trans-racialism and\u200b transgenderism are comparable. They\u2064 quote\u200c that same activist, Tiq Milan, with \u2062this \u2062line \u2014 which may be the single dumbest statement ever uttered by \u200ca trans activist, as mighty a hurdle as that would be. \u201cRace historically emerged as a social construct to establish a racial hierarchy with the white race at the top, whereas variances in gender \u200didentity\u2062 have\u2063 existed for thousands of years, he\u2063 said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s hard to know where to\u200c begin. The first line is simply false, for one. The concept \u2064of race \u2062did not begin with colonialism. It began in antiquity. The Roman poet Virgil \u200ccalled his people the \u201ctoga-ed race,\u201d for example. And many cultures, like in Asia, established \u201cracial hierarchies\u201d that had nothing to do \u2062with whites. Other cultures \u200dcreated \u201cracial hierarchies\u201d \u2064that put the white race at the bottom. In fact, they\u2019re calling for a white genocide in South Africa\u2063 right now. It\u2019s just that nobody ever mentioned \u2063them. \u200bWe have to believe this on faith, I suppose. It takes faith, because in fact,\u200d as it turns out, there is no recorded history \u2014\u200d anywhere in the world, in any culture \u2014 of people believing that men could actually <i>be<\/i> women and women could\u200c actually <i>be<\/i> men. This concept did not exist anywhere until it was invented by \u200bgender\u2064 ideologues in \u200bthe 20th century.<\/p>\n<p>But even putting all the factual issues to \u200cthe side,\u200c what that \u201cexpert\u201d said doesn\u2019t begin to explain \u2064why\u200b people can\u2019t change their race. Even if\u200c you assume it\u2019s\u200b true\u2062 that gender identity has been around for longer\u200c than racial distinctions, there\u2019s still no answer to this basic question: Why can\u2019t we change our race?\u200b Do we have to wait\u200c a thousand years or \u200cso, and then\u200c we can do it? Besides, if race \u200dis a new concept then doesn\u2019t that make it even more fluid and negotiable? Doesn\u2019t that make it even more valid to reject the social construct of race entirely?<\/p>\n<p>Who \u2063knows. The NBC piece\u200b just moves \u2063on. They flail a bit and cite Jamie Cohen, a random Queens College professor, for some support. He says people can\u2019t change their race because, \u201cIt\u2019s just belief. \u2026 It doesn\u2019t ever really work, because it\u2019s not doing anything, but they have \u2064convinced themselves that it works because there\u2019s other people who\u2064 have convinced themselves, as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Social\u2063 contagion, anyone? By the way, Jamie Cohen, like the author of this piece, is not a scientist.\u200b He\u2019s a culture\u200b and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-leads-past-presidents-in-vacation-time\/\" title=\"Biden Leads Past Presidents in Vacation Time\">media studies professor<\/a>. On his website, he says he \u2063specializes in \u201cmemes,\u201d something\u200b called \u201cadvertising inequalities,\u201d and social media. That\u2019s \u2062not to say\u200c he can\u2019t comment\u200b on this topic, of\u200c course. \u200cBut it\u2019s\u2062 notable that the very same people who yell things like, \u201cYou can\u2019t comment \u200con transgenderism; you\u2019re not a member of \u2064the American Medical\u200b Association,\u201d \u2014 \u200cthose \u2064same people are now quoting\u2063 meme \u200dprofessors to explain away trans-racialism.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s worth pausing to \u200dnote something that\u2019s curiously absent from this NBC bombshell.\u2062 And that\u2019s the word \u201csex.\u201d Nowhere in this \u200dfive-page article does the word \u201csex\u201d come\u2064 up. They talk about \u201cgender\u201d and \u201csocial constructs\u201d throughout the piece, but never sex. Why is that?<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s one possibility.\u2064 Maybe it\u2019s because they know that sex\u200b has a clear \u200bbiological component. And at a biological level, there\u2019s\u2062 an \u200bobjective, genetic explanation for why some people are men, and some people are women. And these genetic differences between\u200c men and women are far more substantial than any \u2064conceivable \u200dgenetic differences between racial categories. Men have a \u2062completely different\u200d set of chromosomes than women do, and that affects\u2063 the entire body and how\u2064 it functions. What that means is that trans-racialism, while\u2062 completely crazy, is a lot less crazy than transgenderism. The \u200ctransracial\u200d Japanese girl has a much more valid\u2064 claim to her Japanese identity than any man has to a female identity or vice versa. \u200bRace actually is fluid,\u200b after all. Everyone is a mix of races and ethnicities.<\/p>\n<p>So why do they want to avoid talking about \u2063genetics and objective reality? Why can\u2019t they \u2063just come out and\u2063 admit that, yes, if you support transgenderism, then \u2062you must also \u200dsupport trans-racialism? The truth is, they embrace transgenderism,\u200c while rejecting trans-racialism, for a \u200dsimple reason \u2014 one\u200b that has nothing to do with logic or science. The Left has constructed a race-based spoils system that punishes their political opponents\u200b and elevates loyal members of their party. They don\u2019t want that\u2062 system to come crashing down on them. Self-identified transgenders are the \u200bLeft\u2019s dependable political allies. The people who could take advantage of a trans-racialism are \u200bnot. If \u200dAsians and\u200b white people could instantly claim \u2062to be oppressed black men, then all of their cynical \u2063racial politics would\u2064 collapse\u2064 overnight. And \u200bthey can\u2019t have \u200cthat. It\u2019s that simple. The pseudoscience is a cover, and not a particularly effective one.<\/p>\n<p>A lot of people have tried \u200dto make that case \u200cover the years, especially since the Rachel Dolezal \u200bepisode. But few of them have done it better than \u200bNBC News\u2064 and their intrepid philosophy intern. In their attempt to shut down trans-racialism, they have exposed transgenderism. \u200dTo be sure, like a confused teenager in Maryland who\u2063 thinks she\u2019s Japanese, NBC \u200chas no idea what it\u2019s doing. But in this case, they accidentally did some journalism.
