Although the Trump campaign filed multiple \u2064lawsuits, none were successful in proving Trump\u2019s case.<\/p>\n<p>On Jan. 6, 2021, as protesters gathered in Washington, D.C., Trump urged Congress to set aside the sets of electors from states \u200cwhere he \u2063said fraud took place, insisting Congress had the power to do \u2063so. Although \u2063some lawmakers protested against those electors, the results of the election were certified that day after protesters <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pence-breaks-silence-trump-jan-6-throws-45-bus-endangered-family-everyone-capitol\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">breached<\/a> the Capitol.<\/p>\n<p>According to NBC, U.S. District Judge Tanya\u200d S.\u2063 Chutkan will hear Trump\u2019s case. NBC noted that Chutkan\u2063 is unique among federal judges in handing out harsher sentences of Jan. 6 defendants than those requested by the government.<\/p>\n<p>Even before the indictment was revealed, Trump was\u200c fighting back against it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hear that Deranged Jack Smith, in\u200d order\u200c to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024, will be \u2063putting out yet another\u200b Fake Indictment of your\u2062 favorite President, \u200bme, at 5:00 P.M. A Nation In Decline!\u201d Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/110816365270544876\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">posted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/judge-hands-trump-win-says-stolen-election-claims-protected-presidential-immunity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump\u2019s campaign<\/a> posted on \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Truth Social<\/a> noted that the indictment came \u201cright in the middle of President Trump\u2019s winning\u2063 campaign for 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement called the indictments \u201celection interference.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe lawlessness of these persecutions of President Trump and his supporters is reminiscent of\u200d Nazi Germany in the 1930s, the former \u200dSoviet Union, and other authoritarian,\u200d dictatorial regimes. President Trump has always followed the law and the Constitution, with advice from many\u200c highly accomplished attorneys,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump was indicted earlier this year in New York City on allegations of falsifying business \u2062records \u2064in 2016.
