Every one of \u2064those cops should be\u200d fired\u2064 and sued. \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ef8zBXSf5c\">pic.twitter.com\/ef8zBXSf5c<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 TONY (@TONYxTWO) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TONYxTWO\/status\/1686184152754724864?\">August \u20631, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Schroeder wore a T-shirt that stated, &#8220;<strong>WARRIORS FOR CHRIST<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The back of the shirt, which can be seen during the arrest, reads, &#8220;<strong>I WILL STAND FOR TRUTH EVEN \u2064IF I STAND ALONE<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The video gained \u2062a lot of traction on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/giant-x-twitter-headquarters-removed-amid-battle-san-francisco-officials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> on Monday, which led to \u200dcalls for people to &#8220;pray for this young man.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">I don\u2019t know the \u200bdetails of this, yet, but ask you to pray for this young man, Marcus, who was\u2064 arrested.\u2064 He is one of our students at\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IOPT_FL?\">@IOPT_FL<\/a>. Ask \u2063the Lord to protect him, comfort his family, &#038; cause justice to prevail. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/VyCnSeN19w\">https:\/\/t.co\/VyCnSeN19w<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \u2063Tom Ascol @tomascol (@tomascol) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tomascol\/status\/1686407061922357248?\">August\u2064 1,\u2063 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/republicsentinel.com\/articles\/it-was-worth-it-young-street-preacher-arrested-at-wisconsin-drag-event\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Republic Sentinel<\/a> reported the protest and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pray-for-this-young-man-student-abruptly-arrested-while-reading-from-bible-on-sidewalk\/\" title=\"Student arrested for reading Bible on sidewalk - please pray for him.\">scripture reading<\/a> was organized \u200dby members of the Mercy Seat Christian Church in \u2063Brookfield, Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<p>Schroeder is a member of the church\u200b and spoke to the outlet following his \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/apparent-scheme-kill-ex-auburn-football-player-foiled-wife-men-arrested\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">arrest<\/a>.\u200d The young man said his detainment was for\u200b a worthy cause.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was worth it.\u2064 It\u2019s actually an honor \u200cto be counted worthy to stand with the cloud of witnesses who have\u200b gone before us\u2062 and been arrested for the \u2063sake of spreading Christ and his kingdom,&#8221; he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Added, Schroeder, &#8220;If the police wanted\u2063 to try and \u2063set \u2064an example \u2063for\u200b others or anything like that, the \u2062only \u200dthing I\u2019ve seen is actually the\u200d exact opposite, where more and more people are \u2063seeing\u200d the severity of what\u2019s going on and being called to \u200cmore \u2063action.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He concluded his arrest would only further embolden him to spread <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/teen-reportedly-arrested-handing-bibles-response-proves-isnt-backing-gospel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the \u2062Gospel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Another member of the church was also reportedly detained but was quickly released.<\/p>\n<p>Schroeder was charged with unlawful\u2064 use \u2064of sound amplification and resisting arrest, according to\u200b Jason Storms \u2014 who is also a member\u200b of the\u200c church \u200dand who reportedly filmed the \u200carrest.<\/p>\n<p>The Western Journal reached out to the Watertown Police Department for comment but did not hear back in time for\u2063 publication.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/pray-young-man-student-abruptly-arrested-reading-bible-sidewalk\/\">&#8216;Pray for This\u2064 Young Man&#8217;: Student \u2062Abruptly Arrested While Reading from \u200cBible on Sidewalk<\/a> appeared first on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\">The Western Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man in Wisconsin was arrested for peacefully reading his Bible on public property to protest an LGBT event for children.
