Worrell\u200b ruled that the UVA Health System had wrongfully fired Kaycee McCoy, a cytotechnologist with over ten years of experience, according \u200dto court documents.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Because UVA acted in an arbitrary and capricious manner, this court reverses their decision to fire Plaintiff for failing to be vaccinated from Covid-19. They\u2062 are hereby enjoined from \u200bpreventing her employment on the basis of \u200dvaccination \u2064as long as she \u200dcontinues to qualify for\u2062 a religious accommodation properly applied,&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Worrell ruled that McCoy should receive back pay with interest from the time of her termination to the time of his decision.<\/p>\n<p>McCoy, who \u2062played a crucial role in \u200dscreening cancer cells and other pathological conditions, was fired in November 2021 after her application for a religious exemption \u2064to the\u2063 COVID vaccine\u200d was denied\u200c without an opportunity to appeal.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin removed the vaccine \u200dmandate for state employees, but certain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rnc-announces-plans-to-sue-biden-over-vaccine-mandate\/\" title=\"RNC Announces Plans to Sue Biden Over Vaccine Mandate\">federal vaccine requirements<\/a> still apply to entities receiving Medicare and Medicaid funding.
