GOP Can Now Turn It on Bidens<\/h2>\n<p>For Democrats, this backfire is going to be bitter \u2014 and no one deserves it more.<\/p>\n<p>The party\u200d that cheered for years\u200b as a\u200b ruthless prosecution team attacked former President Donald Trump \u2064and his associates by whatever means necessary is finding out that using the law \u2063as a political\u200c weapon has a \u200cway of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/im-kind-of-a-jerk-carlson-mocks-implosion-of-2-gop-hopefuls-during-interview-with-beck\/\" title=\"Carlson ridicules downfall of 2 GOP candidates in chat with Beck\">coming \u2062back<\/a> to \u200bbite.<\/p>\n<p>And in \u200dthe case of Hunter Biden, it\u2019s already \u200cbiting in a big way.<\/p>\n<p>In\u200c an \u200ceditorial published \u2064on Sunday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/hunter-biden-foreign-agents-registration-act-robert-mueller-donald-trump-26596b5a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a> pointed out that one of the elements \u2063that blew up Hunter Biden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/inside-3-hour-hearing-destroyed-hunter-bidens-plea-deal-really-bad-everyone\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">proposed \u2063plea deal<\/a> last week was Judge Maryellen \u2063Norieka\u2019s question about whether the president\u2019s son was\u2063 under investigation for potential violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2062 law requires American citizens\u200d operating as \u201cagents\u201d of foreign governments to register with the\u2064 U.S. government and report \u200bfinancial information related to that activity, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/nsd-fara\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Justice Department\u2019s website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>When Justice Department prosecutors \u200c\u2014 who have mainly acted more like Hunter\u2019s hotel maids than\u200b representatives \u200bof \u2063the American people \u2014 acknowledged that he was, \u2062even as the\u200b plea\u2064 deal <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-bidens-sweetheart-plea-deal-now-investigated-house-republicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">attempted to shield him<\/a> from prosecution for it, the\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-release-conditions\/\" title=\"Conditions for the release of Hunter Biden.\">deal \u200bfell<\/a> \u200dapart.<\/p>\n<p>And\u200c now\u200c President Joe Biden\u2019s son could well face prosecution under a law Democrats thought they owned.<\/p>\n<p>The act was originally passed in 1938, aimed at propaganda from supporters of Nazi Germany, according to\u2062 the <a href=\"https:\/\/publicintegrity.org\/politics\/what-is-fara-understanding-the-foreign-agents-registration-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Center for Public Integrity<\/a>, a\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/years-of-dems-cheerleading-muellers-witch-hunt-against-trump-are-primed-to-backfire-gop-can-now-turn-it-on-bidens\/\" title=\"Dems' support for Mueller's investigation against Trump may now backfire as GOP can redirect it towards Bidens.\">liberal nonprofit \u2063news organization<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But, as\u2064 the Journal noted, it had precious few applications between the time the shadows of \u200dfascism were looming over \u200dEurope on the eve of World War II and 21st century\u200d American politics.<\/p>\n<p>Before former President Donald Trump was elected \u200cin 2016, in fact, the law had been used in only seven cases, according to the Journal, with three of them ending in convictions. Three convictions in a 75-year \u2064run doesn\u2019t make for \u200da compelling case for a federal \u2062law.<\/p>\n<p>Then came special counsel Robert Mueller\u2019s investigation of the Trump White\u2062 House and those in the Trump camp \u2014 a high-powered, Democrat-run effort willing to use any legal weapon at hand.<\/p>\n<p>And FARA was the weapon at hand, used to nail former Trump 2016 campaign \u2064chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tucker-carlson-says-system-fair-hunter-biden-charged\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Manafort<\/a> and used as part of the arsenal of\u2062 the FBI and DOJ\u2064 assault\u2064 on original Trump national security advisor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/read-entire-explosive-50-million-gen-flynn-lawsuit-us-government\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michael Flynn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Greg Craig, a former Obama White House counsel, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-ex-white-house-counsel-accused-of-lying-about-lobbying-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">was also caught \u200cup<\/a> \u200cin a FARA investigation in a spin-off of the\u2063 Mueller probe. That \u2062should have been a clue for Democrats that they were playing a dangerous game.<\/p>\n<p>But now the stakes are high for the Biden White House,\u2063 and they\u2019re\u200c getting higher, and Democrats (not to mention an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dont-talk-to-me-that-way-dont-ever-talk-to-the-president-that-way-president-trump-slaps-down-media-hack-sets-the-record-straight-on-sham-election-video\/\" title=\"No Respect...\"Don't Talk to Me That Way - DON'T EVER Talk to the President That Way!\" - President Trump SLAPS DOWN Media Hack - Sets the Record Straight on Sham Election (VIDEO)\">establishment media<\/a>) who cheered on Mueller\u2019s hunt with the bloodlust of a coliseum mob could \u200cwell be finding out how\u2062 sharp a two-edged \u200bsword can be.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey may regret that legal standard now that federal prosecutors have confirmed to\u2064 Judge Noreika that FARA charges could still\u2062 be lodged against the \u2063President\u2019s son. Based on Mr. Mueller\u2019s prosecutions, Hunter is vulnerable,\u201d the Journal\u2019s editorial board \u2062wrote.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe know Hunter set up a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-bidens-corrupt-shell-company-named-after-deceased-mothers-birthplace-map-tattooed-on-his-back\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden's Corrupt Shell Company Named After Deceased Mother\u2019s Birthplace; Map Tattooed on His Back\">shell company<\/a> to do business with CEFC China Energy, and \u200dthat he didn\u2019t register as a foreign agent. Shell companies are a common strategy for disguising \u2062ownership, and accepting money from a foreign entity would normally require \u200bFARA registration. Similar questions \u200dremain about Hunter\u2019s dealings in Ukraine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t expect\u2064 Democrats to be interested in those questions\u200b about Hunter, of course. And the country can\u2019t expect \u2064establishment media executives and\u2062 correspondents \u2014 who spent five \u200dyears looking under their own beds for evidence of Trump-Russia \u201ccollusion\u201d \u2014\u200c to ask anything that will make \u200dthe Biden White House \u200blook \u200dbad.<\/p>\n<p>But \u2062even under an evidently corrupt Democratic White House, with an\u200b attorney\u200b general <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/parents-group-speaks-reportedly-targeted-fbi-merrick-garland-terrorist-threats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">whose vile performance<\/a> \u200cin the post will rank in infamy, the law is the law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFARA has \u200cnever been clearly defined and is\u2062 used selectively. That is the\u200c definition of a bad law that is too easy for \u200dprosecutors to exploit against their political \u2062enemies,\u201d the Journal noted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDemocrats have reason\u2063 to say that if everyone in Washington who violates FARA were prosecuted for it, half the lobbyists \u2064would \u200bbe out of business. But this\u2064 would be a more persuasive argument \u2064if they had made it when Robert Mueller was busy using\u200d it against their \u200bpolitical enemies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>That \u2063wasn\u2019t the Democratic take during the Mueller sham, though.<\/p>\n<p>Back then, FARA was the gun best\u200d suited for taking \u2062down Trump-related \u2063targets, and \u200dRobert \u200bMueller could do \u2062no wrong. (Does anyone need to be reminded of the \u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/schiff-knew-mueller-suffering-cognitive-decline-decided-dumb-questions-instead-dismissing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disgraceful spectacle Democrats staged<\/a> when \u200bthe Mueller report destroyed all of \u2063their \u200dhopes about the Trump administration?
