That\u2019s in contradiction to the president\u2019s repeated claim that when it \u2063comes to Hunter\u2019s unreal\u200d professional life, he\u2019s Helen Keller in a burka. Those speakerphone \u200bcalls happened at least 20 \u200dtimes, according to Archer\u2019s testimony. (And there are roughly <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/25\/joe-biden-allegedly-interacted-with-sons-clients-more-than-200-times\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">another 180 times<\/a> that evidence\u200b indicates Biden may have met\u200d with his son\u2019s other business associates.)<\/p>\n<p>The New York Times reacted to that \u2064explosive development with a shrug. \u201cRepublicans have claimed\u2064 repeatedly \u200b\u2014 and so far \u200cwithout proof \u2014 that the investigations implicate the president in \u2064corruption and crimes,\u201d the \u2063paper\u2019s post-testimony <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/07\/31\/us\/politics\/hunter-biden-devon-archer.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a> said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Still no proof! That\u2019s all, folks! Everybody can\u200b go home!<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Mike Allen of Axios was similarly unmoved. \u201cIn closed-door House testimony yesterday,\u201d he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/newsletters\/axios-am-17c8f106-c708-4e53-b59b-6d9731cc7d5b.html?utm_source=newsletter&#038;utm_medium=email&#038;utm_campaign=newsletter_axiosam&#038;stream=top\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>, \u201cHunter Biden\u2019s former \u2063business partner didn\u2019t give Republicans the smoking gun they\u2019d \u200dhoped would show President Biden and his family used government connections for\u200d profit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s \u2064funny. I don\u2019t recall \u200cevery news \u200citem about the forever-long Russia-collusion\u200b story coming with an equivalent Disclaimer about how Democrats had once again fallen short \u2063of <em>proving<\/em> anything. Where were\u200d the underwhelming notes about a failure to secure the\u2064 \u201csmoking gun\u201d? Nowhere. Every time the saga was treated like an <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/02\/01\/the-corrupted-news-media-are-irredeemable-its-far-too-late-for-a-reckoning-of-the-trump-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">incremental unmasking<\/a> of a coming certainty.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>The walls are\u2062 closing in\u2026\u2062 The noose is tightening\u2026 We\u2019ve turned\u200d a corner\u2026 Wait for it\u2026 It\u2019s coming\u2026 Just a minute\u2026 Okay\u2026 Hold \u2064on\u2026 One more time\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Democrats can literally claim anything with nothing to show\u200c for\u2064 it \u2064\u2014 like, say, that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/adam-schiff-repeatedly-claimed-evidence-russian-collusion-denounces-durham-report-flawed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">it\u2019s \u201cclear\u201d<\/a> Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election \u2014 and it\u2019s taken by the media as an authoritative allegation\u2063 of grave \u200cconsequence.<\/p>\n<p>But when Republicans put\u2064 forth <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/31\/democrats-admit-biden-lied-about-family-business-contacts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">truckloads of evidence<\/a> \u2014 sworn testimony by three credible witnesses, text messages, government communications in conflict with the\u2064 Bidens\u2019 public \u200caccounts, FBI documentation of a confidential source detailing an alleged bribe\u200c between Biden and a Ukrainian energy magnate \u2014 it is steadfastly noted by the media that none of it amounts to \u201cproof\u201d or a \u201csmoking gun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In \u200bany event, neither of those things are needed. Juries don\u2019t convict murderers only in cases where the suspect is seen on video committing the crime or\u2062 confessing his guilt. Sometimes it merely \u2062takes being caught in a lie about where\u200b he was and at what time. (See: <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/06\/new-york-times-writers-take-on-the-alex-murdaugh-murders-is-the-reason-why-liberals-cant-be-trusted-on-crime\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alex Murdaugh<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Admittedly,\u200b Devon Archer did not \u2063testify that Joe Biden was\u2062 intimately involved in his son\u2019s business calls, but rather that \u2063Biden\u2019s presence for them was \u200cmade aware for\u200c obvious reasons\u2014 assurance of access to the highest level of government. That\u2019s after Biden denied for years that he ever communicated with his son\u2019s business associates,\u2064 that, in fact, he was\u2064 all but entirely ignorant of what his\u2063 son even did for work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know what he was \u200bdoing. I know he was on the board. I \u2062found out he\u200d was \u2062on the board after he was on the board,\u201d Joe said of \u200cHunter\u2019s Ukrainian business dealings in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=dXvmLeIXoBA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">December 2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And it\u2019s after an FBI source\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/07\/25\/mounting-evidence-doesnt-matter-corporate-media-will-never-cover-the-biden-corruption-scandal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told the agency<\/a> that he had spoken to \u2062a Ukrainian in business with Hunter, and who said that Biden, as U.S. vice \u2064president, was involved with\u200d at least one of\u200d their transactions.<\/p>\n<p>Trump was just <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/09\/e-jean-carrolls-original-claims-about-trump-were-absurd-but-that-didnt-stop-the-media-from-amplifying-them\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">held \u2064legally liable<\/a> for a sexual assault \u200bthat has\u2064 no independent corroboration, and that supposedly \u200bhappened almost three decades ago.<\/p>\n<p>If a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/shes-professionally-ruined-megyn-kelly-says-post-trial-amber-heard-is-unemployable\/\" title=\"\u2018She\u2019s Professionally Ruined\u2019: Megyn Kelly Says Post-Trial Amber Heard Is \u2018Unemployable\u2019\">jury didn\u2019<\/a>t need \u201cproof\u201d or a \u200c\u201csmoking gun\u201d to do that, then everything on public\u2064 record pointing toward Joe Biden having engaged in\u2063 corrupt and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whistleblower-fbi-election-meddles-again-by-targeting-info-democrats-dont-like-under-election-crimes\/\" title=\"Whistleblower: FBI Election-Meddles Again By Targeting Info Democrats Don\u2019t Like Under \u2018Election Crimes\u2019\">potentially criminal business deals<\/a> is more than enough to impeach the\u2062 president.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As more evidence emerges of Joe Biden&#8217;s involvement in a foreign bribery scheme with his son during his vice presidency, the national media dismissively claims that Republicans have yet to prove anything in their investigations.
