Ron DeSantis (R-FL) sets his sights on the 2024 presidential campaign, a recent poll indicates that he has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/expert-warns-u-s-real-estate-market-in-big-trouble\/\" title=\"Expert Warns U.S. Real Estate Market in \"Big Trouble\"\">tough road ahead<\/a>. According to a Morning Consult poll released on Tuesday,\u200c DeSantis has slipped to 15% support among potential Republican primary voters, while former President Donald Trump continues \u200dto\u2063 dominate the race with 58% support. Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy comes in third at 9%, followed by former Vice President Mike Pence at 7%. Subsequently, special counsel Jack Smith issued a 37-count indictment in June over mishandling classified documents, which was later \u200bincreased to 40 federal charges in a superseding indictment last week. Trump has consistently denied any \u2062wrongdoing in relation to these charges.<\/p>\n<p>However, Trump may face two additional indictments related to Smith&#8217;s investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot \u2064and a\u200d Georgia investigation into\u2063 allegations of election result\u200b tampering \u2063in the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis has faced \u200bcriticism regarding his retail politics approach, his ability to sway voters away from Trump, and his campaign \u200bspending, which recently led to the firing of 38 staffers.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, DeSantis remains steadfast in his belief that \u2063he is the only \u2063candidate capable of winning back \u200bthe White House in\u200d next year&#8217;s elections. However, a hypothetical matchup \u200bpresented in the\u200d Morning Consult poll shows that President Joe Biden would defeat both Trump and DeSantis. Biden leads Trump \u200cby \u200ca three percentage point gap, 44% \u2064to \u206441%, and leads DeSantis by six\u200d percentage points, 44% to 38%. These results challenge DeSantis&#8217;s claim of being the strongest candidate to defeat Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Trump maintains\u200d a high favorability rating among voters at 71%, as does DeSantis, who has a 63% favorability rating.
