This deal was ultimately rejected by a federal judge\u2064 who deemed it &#8220;not \u200dstandard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Leading the charge are Republicans Jim Jordan \u200d(Ohio), James \u200bComer (Ky.), and \u200bJason Smith (Mo.), who chair the Judiciary Committee, Oversight and Accountability Committee, and the Ways and Means Committee, respectively. In a letter addressed to Attorney General Merrick Garland, they express their concerns and\u2064 request further details regarding the approval process of the deal. This deal would have allowed Biden to plead guilty to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/presidents-son-gets-sweetheart-deal-from-feds-on-gun-tax-charges\/\" title=\"President\u2019s Son Gets Sweetheart Deal From Feds on Gun, Tax Charges\">misdemeanor tax crimes<\/a> and receive immunity on a broad range of criminal charges, all while \u2062evading \u2064jail time.<\/p>\n<p>Federal judge Maryellen Noreika rejected the deal and instructed prosecutors and Biden&#8217;s legal team to develop a new one. She emphasized \u200bthat the deal was &#8220;not standard&#8221; and &#8220;different from what I normally see.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The committee chairmen state in their letter, &#8220;Given\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-plea-house-gop-investigates-troubling-provisions-of-doj-deal\/\" title=\"House GOP investigates 'troubling' aspects of Hunter Biden's plea in DOJ deal.\">recent unusual events relating<\/a>\u2063 to the Department\u2019s plea and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-bidens-sweetheart-plea-deal-now-being-investigated-by-house-republicans\/\" title=\"House Republicans are currently investigating Hunter Biden's plea deal.\">pretrial diversion agreements<\/a> with Mr. Biden,\u2063 we write to better understand the Department\u2019s decision to\u2062 sign off on such apparently atypical agreements.&#8221; They express serious concerns about the Department&#8217;s\u200d handling of this matter.<\/p>\n<p>This\u2064 investigation comes in\u200c the wake of Devon Archer&#8217;s \u200ctestimony on\u200d Monday.\u200c Archer, who served on \u2062the board \u200cof Ukrainian gas company Burisma alongside Biden, revealed to the House Oversight Committee \u2063that President Joe Biden was present on\u2062 speakerphone during Hunter Biden&#8217;s calls with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-launch-investigation-of-hunter-bidens-sweetheart-plea-deal\/\" title=\"GOP Launches Probe into Hunter Biden's Favorable Plea Agreement\">foreign business\u200d partners<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Rep. Dan Goldman (D., N.Y.) confirmed to the media that Joe Biden would\u200c join these \u200ccalls, but \u2062he downplayed their significance. According to Goldman, &#8220;It was clear that\u2063 it was part of the daily conversations that Hunter Biden had with \u200chis father, and it sounded like most of the time now-President Biden \u2064didn\u2019t even know who the\u2062 people\u200b were with at dinner and was just \u200dasked to say hello and he would talk about the weather.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Joe Biden has consistently distanced himself from his son&#8217;s\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-rebuffs-congressional-investigation\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden Rebuffs Congressional Investigation\">lucrative foreign business dealings<\/a>,\u2063 stating in August 2019, &#8220;I have never discussed with\u2064 my son\u2063 or my brother or anyone else anything having to \u2064do with their business, period.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>House Republicans are investigating Hunter Biden&#8217;s rejected plea deal with the Department of Justice.
