The amoeba\u200c is so tiny that it can only be seen \u2063by a microscope.<\/p>\n<p> Medical expert \u2064Dr. Aftab Khan \u2064claims that once contracted, the infection can spread rapidly.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cUsually within 1 to 5\u200d days, a person can go from severe headache to coma and then \u2063die,\u201d\u200b Dr. Khan said. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The news\u200c comes \u2062after \u2062a 2-year-old in Nevada recently passed away after reportedly contracting \u200cNaegleria fowleri. Reports say that the toddler had \u2064been swimming in a natural hot spring. <\/p>\n<p>As stated by the \u2062CDC, only four out of 154 people in \u200dthe United States who have been \u200binfected by the brain-eating amoeba since 1962 have survived. <\/p>\n<p>The Georgia Department\u2064 of Public Health has not released any further information regarding the patient\u2064 or \u200dwhat fresh body of\u200b water the \u2062infection was contracted from.<\/p>\n<p>Stay informed!
