This request comes \u2063as\u2063 part of a growing trend among <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/massachusetts-da-refers-case-of-desantis-flown-immigrants-to-merrick-garland\/\" title=\"MA DA sends DeSantis-flown immigrants case to Merrick Garland.\">state officials seeking federal criminal inquiries<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last September, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and his administration \u200dtransported \u206349 immigrants to the island \u200don two planes. This strategy, also employed \u2064by Republican governors\u200d like Greg\u200d Abbott (TX), aims\u200d to alleviate \u200cthe immigration influx\u2064 at the southern border.<\/p>\n<h3>Seeking Answers and Justice<\/h3>\n<p>Cape and Islands District Attorney \u200dRobert Galibois has taken\u200d action\u2062 by sending a \u200dletter to Garland on Monday, urging him to initiate federal and\u2063 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/teachers-compile-list-of-parents-who-question-racial-curriculum-plot-war-on-them\/\" title=\"Teachers Compile List Of Parents Who Question Racial Curriculum, Plot War On Them\">criminal investigations<\/a> into the\u200b migrant transports. Galibois \u200dhighlights &#8220;serious \u2063indications and\u200c allegations&#8221; that suggest the immigrants \u200cwere\u200c deceived into making \u2063the journey.<\/p>\n<p>In \u2064his letter, Galibois points out\u2062 that subsequent reporting and public statements indicate that Governor\u2062 Ron DeSantis \u200cand his administration were responsible for planning, initiating, \u2062funding, and\u200b executing this\u2063 operation using taxpayer money.<\/p>\n<p>Galibois argues \u2064that this &#8220;enterprise&#8221; was conceived in Florida, launched in Texas, and involved transporting the immigrants briefly through North Carolina and South \u200bCarolina before concluding in Massachusetts. He believes\u2063 that due to the interstate transportation of these migrants, \u2062federal\u200c prosecution remains a viable option.<\/p>\n<h3>Allegations of Deception<\/h3>\n<p>Several of the immigrants who arrived in Martha&#8217;s Vineyard have claimed that they were\u2063 tricked by the DeSantis administration into taking the flight under false pretenses. They allege \u200dthat they were promised gift certificates, employment \u2062opportunities,\u2064 and housing upon their arrival on the island.<\/p>\n<p>In response, \u200bthese\u200d immigrants filed\u200c a\u2062 federal class-action\u2063 lawsuit against Governor DeSantis the week after their\u200b arrival.<\/p>\n<h3>Joining Forces for Accountability<\/h3>\n<p>District\u200d Attorney Galibois is\u2064 not alone in his pursuit of justice. \u2063He is following \u2063the\u200b lead \u2062of Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA), California Attorney General \u200cRob Bonta, \u2063and Bexar County, Texas, Sheriff Javier Salazar. \u200cTogether, \u200bthey\u2064 have sent a similar request to Attorney General\u2062 Garland, urging him \u2063to\u200c investigate the \u2063transportation of immigrants to Massachusetts and California over the past nine months.\u200b They argue that using people\u200d as political props is unconscionable.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson from Governor DeSantis&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newsom-urges-justice-department-to-investigate-floridas-transport-of-immigrants\/\" title=\"Newsom calls on DOJ to probe Florida's immigrant transportation.\">office previously clarified<\/a> \u2062that written or verbal consent was \u200cobtained from the immigrants before they \u2062boarded the planes.
