The execution \u200bwill take place at the state\u2064 prison\u200d in Bonne Terre.<\/p>\n<p>The inmate\u2019s \u2062attorneys have\u200b expressed concerns\u200c that his schizophrenia\u200d and mental illness prevents him from\u2063 truly understanding his crimes and the resulting consequences. Additionally, they cited a\u2064 myriad of\u2062 delusions \u2063in which Johnson claimed that his \u200ddeath \u2063would bring about the \u201cend\u2063 of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u200bclaims based on mental\u200c health examinations came\u2062 under\u2062 heavy scrutiny\u2063 from the attorney general\u2019s office, which cited that \u200cwith \u2063proper \u2063medication, Johnson \u200dwas\u2064 able to\u2064 manage his mental illness, according to medical \u200brecords.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, The \u200bMissouri Supreme Court\u2063 declined \u200dto halt the \u2062execution in June.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson has confessed to the 2002 murder, in which \u2062he \u2063lured the \u2063young Willamson \u2062to an \u200cabandoned glass factory and attempted to \u200dsexually assault her. She screamed for help and tried her hardest to break\u2063 free. However, Johnson \u2064was still \u200cable to murder the young girl.
