Instead, customers must\u2064 request \u200dthese items \u2063if needed.\u2063 App-based food delivery options must also include an option \u2062to request additional utensils and containers, but \u200cthe\u200d default setting \u200cshould be\u200b without them.<\/p>\n<p>Violating these rules will result in escalating fines, starting at $50 for \u2064a \u200bfirst offense, $150 for a second offense, and $250 for \u200bsubsequent\u2062 violations. However, there is a\u2062 grace period \u200buntil July of next year \u200cbefore the fines take effect.<\/p>\n<p>While the legislation&#8217;s primary \u2064goal \u2063is to reduce waste and \u200bpromote sustainability, it\u2062 also\u2064 aims to help small businesses save on costs.
