Elias&#8217;s ouster from the president&#8217;s circle came just a few months after the Democratic National Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/youre-fired-dnc-hands-scandal-plagued-dem-superlawyer-marc-elias-his-latest-loss\/\">fired him<\/a>, citing &#8220;strategic disagreements.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Biden\u2019s team, long guided by lawyer Bob Bauer, is concerned that while Elias&#8217; approach may be emotionally satisfying and\u2063 make for good\u200c headlines, it can backfire with the current conservative makeup of the judiciary,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2023\/07\/31\/biden-marc-elias-democrats-election-lawsuits\"><em>Axios<\/em> reported<\/a>. &#8220;Beyond the \u2064philosophical disagreements, Biden&#8217;s team became fed up with Elias during the first two years of the administration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Marc was the DNC\u2019s\u2062 counsel and he was consistently giving them and the president\u2019s team the middle finger,&#8221;\u2064 one\u2063 source said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Marc has created a legal strategy he has convinced people is a political strategy, that it is actually [sic] a business strategy,&#8221; said another.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Elias often \u2062did not consult the DNC or \u2063the White House before <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-dumps-grandstanding-democratic-superlawyer-marc-elias-report\/\" title=\"Biden reportedly cuts ties with Democratic superlawyer Marc Elias.\">filing lawsuits affecting\u200d voting rights<\/a> and election laws in key states and at \u200dtimes \u2064disregarded \u2064their \u2062concerns with cases, Democrats familiar\u200d with \u2062the internal deliberations said,&#8221;\u200c according\u200c to <em>Axios<\/em>. &#8220;Biden officials found out Elias \u200bhad filed some lawsuits only when he announced them\u2014often on MSNBC or Twitter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It\u200c is ultimately\u2063 our clients\u2019 decision if and when to provide notice of a\u200d lawsuit to others,&#8221; a spokesperson for \u2063Elias&#8217;s law firm told<em> \u2062 Axios<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>For his work on the 2020 election, the DNC and the Biden campaign paid Elias&#8217;s law firm, \u200bPerkins \u200dCoie, more than $20 million. So far in this cycle, \u200dthe DNC has \u200bshelled out at least $1.9 million to Elias&#8217;s new law firm, the \u2064 <em>Washington Free Beacon<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/democrats\/youre-fired-dnc-hands-scandal-plagued-dem-superlawyer-marc-elias-his-latest-loss\/\">reported<\/a> \u200cafter the DNC canned Elias in April.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Free Beacon<\/em> also reported at the\u2064 time on Elias&#8217;s\u200b string of scandals:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Elias and his roster of loser clients have been at the \u2062center of Democrats&#8217; biggest \u2062scandals in recent years. John Fetterman&#8217;s U.S. Senate campaign \u2063tapped the dirty-tricks specialist in November to push Pennsylvania to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rnc-sues-pennsylvania-for-planning-to-illegally-accept-undated-mail-in-ballots\/\" title=\"RNC Sues Pennsylvania for Planning to Illegally Accept Undated Mail-in Ballots\">accept undated mail-<\/a>in ballots in a \u200cbid to \u200cboost the stroke survivor&#8217;s vote count. Earlier in 2022, Elias joined\u200c the legal team of Andrew Gillum, the disgraced Florida gubernatorial candidate who \u200dwithdrew from politics after police \u2063found\u200c him passed \u2064out and full of drugs in a hotel room.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>As a lawyer for\u2064 the \u200bDNC and Hillary Clinton campaign in 2016, Elias hired <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/arizona-legislature-introduces-first-in-nation-resolution-to-protect-against-democrat-court-packing\/\" title=\"Arizona Legislature Introduces First-In-Nation Resolution To Protect Against Democrat 'Court Packing'\">opposition research<\/a> firm Fusion GPS to compile a\u2062 dossier on Donald Trump&#8217;s alleged ties to Russia. The dossier, written by former British spy Christopher Steele, has been largely debunked since \u200bits release in 2017. The Federal Election\u200c Commission last year fined\u200d the DNC\u200c and Clinton campaign a total of $113,000 for improperly earmarking the dossier in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/money-honey-hunter-bidens-art-patron-has-funneled-millions-to-democrats\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden's art patron has directed millions to Democrats.\">campaign\u200d finance disclosures<\/a> as &#8220;legal expenses&#8221; instead of opposition research.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Elias was not fined in the\u2062 FEC case, but he has racked up other controversies.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>A\u2063 Texas appeals\u200d court sanctioned\u2064 Elias in 2021 for &#8220;misleading&#8221;\u200c statements he made to overturn a ban on\u200c straight-ticket ballot options.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In a lawsuit that same year, Elias claimed without\u2063 evidence that New\u200d York&#8217;s voting machines were compromised in a \u200drace between his client, Anthony Brindisi, and Rep. Claudia Tenney (R.). A federal judge blasted \u2063Elias&#8217;s legal argument as a &#8220;Hail Mary pass&#8221; before tossing the lawsuit.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Elias in 2021 unsuccessfully pressured House Democrats to overturn Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks&#8217;s (R., Iowa) win\u2062 over his \u200bclient, Rita Hart. The Washington Free Beacon reported Elias \u2064represented the Virginia-based political\u200b action committee that falsely posed as a conservative \u2062group in\u2062 ads criticizing Virginia governor \u2062Glenn Youngkin (R.) over his stance \u2062on gun rights.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Elias represents a slew of Democratic candidates, super PACs, \u200dand political \u2062committees. He specializes in litigation on behalf of candidates in ballot recounts and in lawsuits to \u200cshape voting\u200c laws in ways favorable to Democrats. Elias, for example, has sued numerous times to block voter ID legislation.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Democrats&#8217; committees for House,\u200c Senate, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/impossible-gop-picked-up-seats-in-house-picked-up-state-legislatures-picked-up-governorship-held-the-senate-but-sniffy-joe-won-not-a-chance\/\" title=\"IMPOSSIBLE: GOP Picked Up Seats in House, Picked Up State Legislatures, Picked Up Governorship, Held the Senate -- But Sniffy Joe Won?...
