Unlike other tick-borne diseases, AGS is an allergic condition triggered by a\u200d sugar found\u2064 in mammalian meat\u200c and other products. Consuming red meat, milk products, or gelatin can lead to \u200ca serious allergic reaction within a few hours, causing symptoms such as itching, swelling, vomiting, diarrhea, shortness of breath, and \u200ca\u200b drop in blood pressure.<\/p>\n<p>The majority of scientific research on tick-borne diseases has focused on more\u200c common infections like Lyme disease and babesiosis. \u200dLyme\u200c disease presents with different symptoms, including fevers, fatigue, and rash, while babesiosis manifests as flu-like\u200c symptoms after a red blood cell infection. Both Lyme disease and babesiosis are caused by \u2063black-legged ticks, \u200cwhich primarily feed on white-tailed \u2062deer.<\/p>\n<p>AGS, on the other hand, is derived from a bite\u2063 of a lone star tick, which is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/what-to-know-about-the-cdc-warning-on-rare-tick-borne-allergy-to-meat\/\" title=\"CDC warns of rare meat allergy caused by ticks.\">increasingly outnumbering black-legged ticks<\/a> in certain \u200careas.<\/p>\n<h3>The \u2062Unique Challenges of AGS<\/h3>\n<p>AGS\u2062 poses \u200cunique challenges due to the lack of\u200b general and scientific knowledge about the condition. A recent study conducted by the CDC revealed that a significant percentage of healthcare providers were unaware of AGS \u2063or\u200b lacked confidence in their ability\u200d to \u200didentify and treat it successfully.<\/p>\n<p>According to the CDC, there have been over 110,000 identified cases of \u200dAGS in the United States from\u200b 2010 to 2022, but many more \u2064reactions likely went undiagnosed, bringing\u2063 the estimated total to 450,000. However, the lone star tick&#8217;s importance is now being recognized as it\u200c spreads beyond\u2062 its traditional Southern and Midwestern U.S.\u2063 habitats, even venturing into parts of Canada due to warmer temperatures and\u2063 changes in land use patterns.<\/p>\n<p>Efforts are being made by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-cabinet-pick-defended-unconstitutional-religious-restrictions\/\" title=\"Biden Cabinet Pick Defended Unconstitutional Religious Restrictions\">public health agencies<\/a> to address the emerging problem of lone \u2063star \u2063ticks and AGS.
