Wade abortion decision and return the question to state lawmakers.<\/p>\n<p>Harris might have thought she \u2063was \u2062damning the\u2062 court, instead she ended up damning \u2064her own administration.<\/p>\n<p>During an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/speeches-remarks\/2023\/07\/28\/remarks-by-vice-president-harris-during-a-moderated-conversation-on-reproductive-health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extended riff<\/a> on the supposed economic challenges faced by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lubbock-becomes-largest-city-in-u-s-to-outlaw-abortion\/\" title=\"Lubbock Becomes Largest City In U.S. To Outlaw Abortion\">women seeking abortions<\/a> (the \u2062challenges \u2064the unborn\u2064 baby is facing are considerably graver), Harris bemoaned the fact\u200b that the U.S. economy is so precarious that most households would have\u2063 difficulty \u200dhandling an unexpected expense of even $400.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cMost Americans are a $400 unexpected expense away from bankruptcy,\u201d<\/strong> Harris said Friday\u200c during a pro-abortion event at Drake University\u200b in Des Moines, Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>Clearly, Harris thought \u200cshe\u200b would be tugging \u2062at \u200dthe heartstrings of the progressives gathered to protest Iowa\u2019s law banning abortions after six week of pregnancy \u2014 a law\u2063 that has been blocked in court \u200bfor the moment, as <a href=\"https:\/\/news.yahoo.com\/block-iowas-strict-abortion-law-180705043.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Associated Press<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>But no one needs to agree with Harris about abortion to understand that she was making an even bigger \u2062point\u200b \u2014\u2062 even if she didn\u2019t realize \u2064it:<\/p>\n<p>After more than two years of President\u200b Joe Biden \u200bin\u200c the White House, the citizens \u2064of the\u200c world\u2019s\u2064 most \u200bprosperous country aren\u2019t so very prosperous after all.<\/p>\n<h3>Do\u2064 you think &#8220;Bidenomics&#8221; is working?<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Yes<\/li>\n<li>No<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And with a president who seems to think what he calls \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jpmorgan-ceo-dem-donor-jamie-dimon-slams-biden-now-bidenomics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bidenomics<\/a>\u201d is working so \u200bwell \u200bhe plans on running for re-election on it, it doesn\u2019t look like that\u2019s going to \u2064change anytime soon.<\/p>\n<p>Harris might not have known what she was \u200bsaying \u2014 \u200dit surely wouldn\u2019t be \u200dthe first time \u2014 but plenty of\u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kamala-admits-bidenomics-not-working-by-saying-americans-cant-afford-400-surprise-expense\/\" title=\"Kamala acknowledges 'Bidenomics' failure, citing Americans' inability to handle 0 unexpected costs.\">social media users \u2064understood<\/a> it immediately.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYeah, that\u2019s called \u200bBidenomics and it\u2019s a problem,\u201d wrote Sen. Bankruptcy is serious business that isn\u2019t likely to come \u200bup with just one financial setback, no matter how hard it might hit.<\/p>\n<p>But as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/harris-slammed-cant-afford-surprise-expense-bidenomics\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a> pointed out, she didn\u2019t just quite make the \u200dfactoid up out of thin\u200d air. Fox noted that Harris was likely referring to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/consumerscommunities\/shed.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Federal\u2062 Reserve\u2063 survey<\/a> of U.S. \u200bhouseholds that\u2064 showed that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/consumerscommunities\/sheddataviz\/unexpectedexpenses.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">37 percent<\/a> of \u2063American individuals \u200bor households would be unable to cover an unexpected expense of $400.<\/p>\n<p>Almost 40 percent of Americans is not \u201cmost Americans.\u201d And saying most Americans don\u2019t have $400 in change in their couch is one thing. Claiming a $400 expense would \u200bdrive a household \u2063into literal bankruptcy is considerably different.<\/p>\n<p>But the underlying fact that Harris \u2063admitted is undeniable: American incomes have not\u200c kept up with \u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/thanks-joe-biden-cost-fourth-july-cookout-reaches-record-high-thanks-inflation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the soaring price\u200c of living<\/a> under the Biden administration.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the Biden presidency\u200b has \u200bbeen \u2063a disaster\u2062 for the American economy, from rampant government spending that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-spending-hundreds-billions-fed-printed-money-not-cause-inflation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fueled rapacious inflation<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/unconscionable-house-democrats-just-blocked-american-energy-independence-russia-act\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">surrendering the energy independence<\/a> that the United\u2062 States \u200dachieved <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/total-american-energy-independence-huge-america-left-isnt-interested\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">under the Trump administration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If\u200d this is the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/reagan-economist-takes-presidents-claims-bidenomics-numbers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bidenomics<\/a>\u201d\u200b that Democrats want to run the 2024 election on \u2014 if Kamala Harris wants to go on the road to tell her \u2063country that the administration she serves has left its citizenry \u2063teetering on the edge of financial failure, it\u2019s only going to help whomever Republicans eventually nominate.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the COVID\u2063 pandemic,\u200b GOP front-runner former President\u2062 Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-economy-soaring-homebuilding-surges-13-year-high\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">amassed an economic record<\/a> \u200bany sane politician would envy \u2014 with low unemployment, low inflation and \u200ba rising stock \u2064market.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s chief rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, made his national name by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/numbers-finally-desantis-100-right-fl-beat-pants-off-ny-ca-covid-response-study\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">leading the Sunshine State<\/a> to a boom \u2062time in the face of\u2064 COVID-19 while Democratic-dominated state governments strangled\u200c their own economies \u2064in pandemic paralysis.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, just about any candidate in the increasingly crowded Republican field would do a better job \u200cthan the Biden administration\u2064 and the socialists who\u2019ve taken over\u200d the modern Democratic Party simply by employing\u2063 standard Republican strategies \u2014 what used to be standard \u2062 <em>American<\/em> strategies \u2014\u2064 of limited regulation \u200band free markets to ignite the country\u2019s potential.<\/p>\n<p>Harris didn\u2019t mean to, but she all \u200bbut admitted \u201cBidenomics\u201d hasn\u2019t \u200bdone that, and it never will.<\/p>\n<p>Like a stopped clock, she was right.
