The\u200b pain\u2062 has \u200cbecome so unbearable that Cardinal sought permission from \u200cCanada&#8217;s MAID program (medical assistance\u2062 in dying) to be euthanized. However, his request was rejected.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cardinal, a\u200d 35-year-old\u2063 &#8220;sterilized First Nations \u2063post-op transsexual,&#8221; turned to the MAID program, \u200cwith \u2064his \u2064doctor\u200c explaining that his distress\u200c was related \u2062to the pain and anxiety caused by \u2062his neo-vagina. Unfortunately, another doctor consulted\u200d on\u200c the\u2062 case concluded that\u200b Cardinal did\u2063 not meet the current criteria for MAID, suggesting a reassessment in the future if\u200c his clinical status changed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wesley\u2064 J.
