\u2063Letter Days Before Devon Archer Is Set to Testify on Biden Business Dealings<\/h2>\n<p>Two days before convicted \u200bfelon\u2064 and former Hunter Biden business partner Devon Archer is scheduled to testify\u200d to a\u200b House panel, the Department\u200c of Justice appeared to be in \u2063a hurry to get him off to prison.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A letter sent on\u200c Saturday from\u2063 the DOJ led \u200dHouse Oversight Committee Chairman James\u2062 Comer to lash out at \u200bwhat he believes are \u2064continued efforts to block the investigation into the links\u2063 between Hunter Biden\u2019s business ventures and President Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/07\/23\/hunter-biden-put-then-vp-dad-joe-on-the-phone-with-business-associates-at-least-2-dozen-times-ex-partner-devon-archer-to-testify\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York\u200c Post<\/a> report \u2063last week noted that Archer would be \u200dtelling the House that on\u2062 at least one\u2062 occasion when Joe Biden was vice \u2062president his son connected him with executives with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, where Hunter Biden served as a board member.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The\u200c Post \u200breport \u2063said that on Dec. \u20632, 2015, two officials \u200dwith Burisma\u200d were with \u200dArcher and Hunter Biden in\u2063 Dubai when \u200cone asked the then-vice\u2062 president\u2019s son, \u201cCan you ring\u2064 your dad?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Post report said Hunter Biden then did so.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The potential of\u200c what Archer could say \u2062led <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/close-associate-biden-family-worked-delaware-us-attorney-hunter-biden-investigation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Comer<\/a> to put a sinister spin on a letter from Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, \u2064to Judge Ronnie\u200d Abrams in which\u2063 Williams requested a date for Archer to surrender and begin his \u2062year in prison on charges \u2063of defrauding\u200d a Native American nation, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/comer-questions-timing-dojs-letter-requesting-ex-hunter-biden-business-partner-report-prison-odd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>New York Post columnist\u2063 Miranda Devine\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/07\/30\/doj-cant-sink-any-lower-after-attempted-arrest-of-hunter-bidens-ex-partner-devon-archer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported on Sunday<\/a> \u200dthat Williams\u200c rejected a request from Archer\u2019s attorney to have the decision postponed until\u2063 Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Comer told Mario Bartiromo on \u201cSunday Morning Futures\u201d that \u2063the\u2063 letter was \u201cvery troubling,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/comer-questions-timing-dojs-letter-requesting-ex-hunter-biden-business-partner-report-prison-odd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s \u2062odd that it was issued on a Saturday, and it\u2019s odd that \u200dit\u2019s right before he\u2019s \u2064scheduled to come in to have an \u200bopportunity to speak in front of the House Oversight Committee and tell the American\u200b people the truth about what really went on with Burisma,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Archer was also\u200b a board member of the company.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe lengths to which the Biden legal team\u200c has gone to try to intimidate our witnesses, to coordinate with the Department of Justice and to certainly coordinate \u200cwith the Democrats on the House Oversight Committee to encourage people not\u2062 to cooperate \u2064with our investigation, to encourage \u2062banks not to turn over bank records, to \u2063encourage Treasury not to let us\u2062 have\u2064 access to those <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fncs-carlson-if-youre-looking-for-election-rigging-look-no-further-than-media-treatment-of-hunter-biden-saga\/\" title=\"FNC's Carlson: 'If You're Looking for Election Rigging, Look No Further' Than Media Treatment of Hunter Biden Saga\">suspicious activity reports<\/a>. It\u2019s very\u200c troubling,\u201d Comer said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd I believe that \u2026 this is another violation of the law. This\u2062 is obstruction of justice.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Comer said Archer can join those\u2064 who have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-biden-still-get-saved-doj-even-without-immunity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told the truth<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cHe has an opportunity to be a hero, like the two whistleblowers were, like the judge in Delaware was who rejected the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ghislaine-maxwell-now-accusing-prison-guard-of-abuse\/\" title=\"Ghislaine Maxwell Now Accusing Prison Guard Of Abuse\">sweetheart plea\u00a0deal<\/a> from the Department of Justice to Hunter Biden. Devon Archer could be in that category of Americans that just come and tell \u2062the truth. That\u2019s all we want,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In her column, Devine noted that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/busted-despite-denials-kjp-subtly-reframing-joe-hunter-business-ties-narrative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Joe Biden<\/a> has maintained, \u201cI\u2019ve never spoken to my son about his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-secret-service-intervened-in-hunter-biden-gun-incident-lied-on-background-check-form-report-says\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Secret Service Intervened In Hunter Biden Gun Incident; Lied On Background Check Form, Report Says\">overseas business dealings<\/a>,\u201d since September 2019, but that \u200cthat stance has since morphed into \u2063a comment last \u2064week from \u200dWhite House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre that \u201cthe president was never in business with his \u200bson.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cBig difference. \u200bThey\u2019ll soon be parsing the meaning\u200d of \u2018in business,\u2019\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to\u2062 Devine, \u2064Bob\u2062 Costello, former deputy chief of the Criminal Division of the Southern District of New \u200bYork, said the office \u201cshouldn\u2019t be involved.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhy are they suddenly interested in a surrender date\u200c right on \u2063the eve of his testimony? They want to put pressure on him.\u2063 They want \u200cthis to be weighing on\u2063 his mind,\u201d he said, according to Devine.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think what the SDNY has done borders on\u2063 obstructing justice, by interfering with a congressional witness. While they might technically be allowed to \u2063do this, it exhibits bad form at the very least,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Matthew Schwartz,\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/joe-biden-caught-huge-lie-photographic-proof-shows-hunter-dads-corvette-pivotal-day\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Archer\u2019s attorney<\/a>, said his\u200b client does not\u200d agree with\u200d the theories about \u200cintimidation, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/07\/30\/devon-archer-hunter-biden-testimony-00108902\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Politico<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe are \u200daware of speculation \u2063that the Department of Justice\u2019s weekend request to have Mr. Archer report to prison is \u200dan attempt by the Biden administration to intimidate him \u2062in advance of his meeting with the\u00a0House Oversight Committee,\u201d Schwartz\u200c said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be clear, Mr. Archer does not agree with that speculation.
