This is not a political issue, it\u2019s a family matter. Jill and I\u200c only\u2063 want \u2063what\u200b is best\u200b for\u200c all of our grandchildren, including Navy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>That\u2062 statement may have smoothed\u2063 things over for Legacy Media and other Democrats, but Turley was livid in an opinion column for Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven for those\u2064 of us \u200cwho merely followed this saga from the beginning, the statement \u2064was maddening and frankly insulting,\u201d Turley <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/opinion\/joe-jill-biden-acknowledge-7th-grandchild-obnoxious-reason\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a>. \u201cIt suggested that there was some reason, until now, that prevented the Bidens from acknowledging \u200bthe existence of their\u2063 fifth granddaughter. That is false.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Those who read or\u200c listen to the George Washington University professor, frequent Fox News guest, and\u200c writer know that that\u2019s about \u2063as fired up\u200b as Turley gets.\u2062 He went on\u2064 to \u2062argue that it wasn\u2019t just the Bidens\u2019 written statement alone that made the Friday night news dump so appalling.<\/p>\n<p>A \u200dsource told PEOPLE that the\u2063 Bidens were simply following Hunter\u2019s lead \u2014 for reasons that remain \u2062unclear.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou have \u2062to\u200b remember there were some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/our-son-hunter-and-navys-mother-joe-biden-finally-acknowledges-his-seventh-grandchild-in-friday-night-news-dump\/\" title=\"Joe Biden finally acknowledges his seventh grandchild, Hunter, and Navy's mother in a Friday night news dump.\">fairly contentious legal proceedings<\/a> between Navy\u2019s parents \u200bhappening until just a \u200dfew weeks ago. As grandparents,\u200b the\u2064 Bidens are \u200cfollowing Hunter\u2019s lead,\u201d the \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-administration-proposing-administrative-abolishment-of-ice-report\/\" title=\"Biden Administration Proposing \u2018Administrative Abolishment\u2019 Of ICE: Report\">anonymous source told<\/a> the \u200cmagazine. \u201cThey are \u2014 \u200band have been \u2014 giving Hunter and Lunden the space and time to figure things out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As Turley said in his\u2063 op-ed, \u201cThere was no legal, or even tactical, reason for the refusal of the first couple to acknowledge Navy for\u2062 four years.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Turley, who has lived\u2062 in D.C. for years, also suggested that the Bidens\u2019\u200b treatment of Navy went far beyond the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/frankly-insulting-law-professor-slams-bidens-obnoxious-reason-for-finally-recognizing-hunters-daughter\/\" title=\"Law professor criticizes Biden's offensive justification for acknowledging Hunter's daughter.\">normal callousness people<\/a> \u2064in the \u2063District were accustomed to.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWashington is a\u2064 hard town,\u201d Turley said.\u2064 \u201cI have lived and worked here for decades \u2063and\u200b I am still amazed by the cold \u2064calculations of many in this city. Long-standing values and\u2062 associations are routinely jettisoned\u2062 for\u2062 personal advantage.
