But \u2064their proposed solution is rather\u2064 unconventional -\u2064 using the government to\u200c fix loneliness.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Murphy suggests \u2063legislation to establish a national strategy to combat loneliness and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-loneliness-advisory-sketches-blueprint-for-regulating-everyones-private-life\/\" title=\"Federal advisory proposes regulating private life to combat loneliness.\">promote social connection<\/a>. He \u200dargues that \u2062kids&#8217; addiction to algorithms is a major\u2063 factor, and that\u200c a decade ago, when teenagers had to put in \u200dmore\u200d effort to find things they \u200bcared about\u2064 and connect with peers, they \u200dwere actually happier.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While\u200c there\u200d is some truth to this, blaming\u2064 the decline of parental control\u2064 over kids&#8217; access to social media is not the real reason\u2062 for their loneliness.\u200b The root cause lies in the decline of community.<\/p>\n<h3>The Decline of Community and Religious Affiliation<\/h3>\n<p>Where is this\u200b decline of community coming from?\u200c It&#8217;s\u200d closely\u200b tied to the decline in religious \u2062affiliation.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/mailer.dailywire.com\/click?fre=N36s1Hss3T6SGt9RObrEEIYiyjcmRhgBbXz7_ZzltVTsYrOXGwuyAt3KBVLtErbQA47c1IEEkmoV_I5UXcbpolAO1ml_fj9_KSKCE4Y13SeMgWqEIPHIjILRcpLBl_m3e-6WV9kNlcOL3YKnDFJWLKTPEYbAHUCj88qMKKsQCe-ivuI4PN35qL0zGouaFpnwSVfSkxz14g==\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a \u2064recent Gallup poll<\/a>, the\u200d percentage of Americans who believe in God, angels, heaven, hell, and the devil has declined by three to five percentage points since 2016. Currently, only 74% believe in God, down from 90%\u200b in 2001.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, there is a strong correlation between political affiliation and religious\u200c belief. The poll data reveals \u200bthat \u2062between 78% to 87%\u2062 of Republicans\u200d believe in these religious entities,\u2062 while only 56% to 66% of Democrats do. \u2064Democrats\u2062 are also\u200d less \u200dlikely to believe in hell and the devil.<\/p>\n<p>But\u2064 the decline in religious affiliation is not just about \u200dbelief in God. It&#8217;s about the decline of communal values and shared interests.<\/p>\n<h3>Living in a Religious World<\/h3>\n<p>Living in a\u200b religious world doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean \u200bconstantly pondering the existence of God. It means living based on\u2064 certain godly principles \u200cand enacting them in daily life.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, even many agnostics \u2064and atheists operate from religious principles without acknowledging it. Believing \u200bin moral right and wrong or in the comprehensibility\u2062 of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-democrats-think-they-can-fix-americans-loneliness-without-church-theyre-wrong\/\" title=\"Democrats believe they can address American loneliness without church, but they are mistaken.\">universe reflects religious principles<\/a> that\u200b cannot be derived \u200bfrom evolutionary or\u2062 deterministic biology.<\/p>\n<p>These religious\u200d principles form the basis for \u2063communities \u2063of interest, such \u2064as churches. \u2064The decline of \u200dreligious\u2063 communities directly correlates with the rise in\u2063 loneliness because churches used to be a \u200cplace where people gathered and connected.<\/p>\n<p>Personally,\u2064 my family is not lonely \u200dbecause we\u200c have kinship connections, close relatives, and a religious community with like-minded families. This provides a social safety net\u200d and \u2062a \u2063sense of involvement.<\/p>\n<h3>The Strings\u2062 Attached to\u2062 Community<\/h3>\n<p>Every community comes with strings attached. Even friendships have a set of values and\u2062 judgments. Every group requires a buy-in \u200band skin in the\u200c game.<\/p>\n<p>However, the Democratic Party and many on the Left reject the idea of\u2063 requiring skin in the game to be part of\u2064 a \u200cgroup. They view it as\u200d an imposition on \u2064individual identity. This leads to atomistic individualism, which ultimately\u2063 results in loneliness.<\/p>\n<h3>The Irreplaceable\u2064 Role of Religious Communities<\/h3>\n<p>While attempts have been made to create ersatz communities of interest, such as college groups or \u2064country\u2064 clubs, they cannot replace the role of religious \u200dcommunities.<\/p>\n<p>Religious observance is more than just\u200b a personal relationship with God.
