only days before \u2063the former Hunter Biden business partner\u2019s highly\u200d anticipated congressional appearance.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>Federal prosecutors in \u200cManhattan sent a letter on Saturday demanding \u2062that \u2064a court\u200c set a date\u2062 for Archer to begin his one-year sentence in a fraud case separate from Hunter\u2019s\u2062 numerous scandals \u2063and illegal\u2062 activities.<\/p>\n<p>Archer\u2019s 2018 conviction on two\u200b felony charges for his involvement\u200d in a conspiracy to \u2064defraud a\u200c Native American tribe was upheld last\u2064 Tuesday by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.<\/p>\n<p>Archer, who is scheduled to testify about the president\u2019s son before \u2064the House Oversight Committee on Monday, has \u2063been \u2064contesting the conviction.<\/p>\n<p>His attorney, Matthew Schwartz, said he would file a formal response to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s \u2064Office\u2019s request by \u200cWednesday and that his client would continue to testify as scheduled, despite charges\u200b that the DOJ letter was an intimidation technique.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWe are aware of speculation that the Department of Justice\u2019s weekend request to have Mr. Archer report to prison is an attempt by the Biden administration \u2062to intimidate him in advance of his meeting with the House Oversight Committee,\u201d Schwartz said in a statement.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cTo be clear, Mr. Archer does not agree with that speculation,\u201d\u200c Schwartz continued. \u2062\u201cIn any case, Mr.\u200d Archer will do what he has planned to \u200bdo all along, which is to show\u2062 up\u200c on Monday and to honestly answer the questions \u2063that\u2063 are put to him by the\u2062 Congressional investigators.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Schwartz has claimed that setting a detention date was \u201cpremature\u201d as he considers his appeal options.<\/p>\n<p>Archer, Biden, and \u2064Christopher Heinz co-founded \u2063Rosemont Seneca Partners in 2009, which the first son utilized as a vehicle for many\u200d of\u2062 his <a Biden\u200b would phone\u2064 in his\u200d father, then-Vice President Joe\u2064 Biden, the Washington Post \u2064outlet revealed.<\/p>\n<p>This is a \u2063significant milestone in the GOP-led investigations into Biden family crimes since \u200dit could link the president to his son\u2019s business dealings.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI have never spoken\u200b to my son about his overseas\u200d business dealings,\u201d Biden claimed previously.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The White House now claims that the president \u201cwas never in business with his son,\u201d an obvious shift in verbiage that press secretary Karine\u2062 Jean-Pierre has dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>For months, Biden administration officials have \u200dalso slammed\u200b Republicans\u200c for their investigation into the First Family\u2019s \u2062economic \u2062practices, emphasizing that the\u2063 president has not been personally \u2062involved.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cJust last week, his fellow\u2064 GOP colleague on the Oversight \u200bCommittee said this on camera for all to see: \u2018I\u2019ve \u200bheard over and over \u200dthat President Biden has not been implicated or\u200b proven for\u200c any wrongdoing here, and I acknowledge that,&#8217;\u201d White House \u200cspokesperson\u200b Ian Sams
