Perhaps it\u2019s the dawn of fantasy baseball. Whatever it is, there\u2019s always been a slight tilt toward batting \u200cand pitching for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/georgia-gop-governor-rips-mlb-for-caving-to-cancel-culture-says-president-biden-is-lying-about-voting-reform-bill\/\" title=\"Georgia GOP Governor Rips MLB For \u2018Caving To Cancel Culture,\u2019 Says President Biden Is \u2018Lying\u2019 About Voting Reform Bill\">baseball fans<\/a>, despite the absolute importance of\u2064 fielding.<\/p>\n<p>And that \u2062importance was on\u200d full display Friday night\u2062 in a game between a pair \u2062of bitter \u200cNL Central rivals.<\/p>\n<p>To set \u200cthe stage: The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/first-time-everything-mlb-star-world-series-hero-declines-induction-teams-hall-fame\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St. Louis Cardinals<\/a> were hosting the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/chicago-cubs-beat-on-division-rival-so-badly-they-made-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chicago \u200bCubs<\/a> \u2062 in \u2063the second game of a four-game\u200d series \u200con Friday.<\/p>\n<p>It was\u200c the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/play-of-the-year-cubs-outfielder-makes-outstanding-catch-at-the-wall-to-save-game\/\" title=\"Cubs outfielder's incredible catch saves game. 'Play of the Year'.\">classic baseball movie scenario<\/a>, with the Cubs clinging to a 3-2 lead \u2064at the bottom of the ninth, two outs, game-tying run on third.<\/p>\n<p>Cardinals utility \u200dplayer Alec Burleson was at \u200dthe\u2062 plate, and Cubs pitcher Adbert Alzolay\u200b appeared to give\u200d the slugger\u2062 exactly what he wanted.<\/p>\n<p>Burleson swung, got some nice contact, the ball was going, going, going\u2026 (And it should be\u200d noted, the ball was headed right toward the grassy patch\u2064 in the middle of the outfield seats.)<\/p>\n<p>And\u2026\u2064 it had gone right into the glove of Cubs outfielder Mike Tauchman.<\/p>\n<p>But\u200d wait!<\/p>\n<p>Tauchman bobbled the ball for a brief\u2064 moment, likely sending \u200cCubs\u2063 fans\u2019 hearts sinking, before corralling it and \u2063coming up with the game-clinching out.<\/p>\n<p>It\u200b was\u200d an incredible defensive play from Tauchman.
