The two served together on the\u200d board of Burisma, a Ukrainian\u2064 energy company, and \u200bhandled a\u200b range of other \u2064business deals together through Rosemont\u200d Seneca, their investment firm.<\/p>\n<p>While other witnesses have\u200c discussed the evidence that\u200b Hunter Biden engaged in\u200d illegal activity during his time working for overseas companies, Archer\u2019s \u2062testimony could \u200dbe the first that \u2064directly links Joe Biden to the \u2064lobbying his\u2063 son \u200ddid.<\/p>\n<p>And two IRS \u2062whistleblowers have said Hunter Biden \u2063avoided paying taxes on his income from Burisma\u2062 starting in \u20642014 through a\u200d scheme he and Archer arranged together.<\/p>\n<p>Archer\u2019s attorney \u2064told the Washington Free Beacon last \u2063week that his client has already spoken with\u2062 federal investigators and a\u2064 grand jury looking into the Biden family.<\/p>\n<p>Archer is expected to tell congressional \u2062investigators that Hunter Biden frequently \u2062put his father on speakerphone to talk to\u2062 Burisma officials at the height of his lobbying work for the Ukrainian company.<\/p>\n<p>At \u200cthe\u2063 time, \u200dHunter Biden and Archer were \u2063working to \u200cstop an investigation into Mykola Zlochevsky, the head of Burisma, that was being led by \u2064Viktor \u2063Shokin, then the top prosecutor in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>Joe \u2063Biden publicly called for Shokin to be fired and privately threatened to withhold U.S. aid from Ukraine if he was not. \u200bThe timing of the\u2064 calls Hunter Biden facilitated between his father \u2062and the Burisma executives, Archer is expected to say, lines up with actions \u200dJoe Biden took that benefitted Zlochevsky and Burisma directly.<\/p>\n<p>Gary Shapley, an IRS whistleblower, testified that \u200bArcher established\u200d a shell company through\u2064 which Hunter Biden routed his income from Burisma starting in 2014. At that time, Hunter\u2062 Biden was earning $83,000 per month from the Ukrainian energy company.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden attempted to claim the money as \u200da loan, avoiding the obligation to\u2064 pay any taxes on the income. But Archer claimed the money as a business expense, Shapley testified, indicating that there was never an expectation that Hunter Biden intended to repay the \u2062money.<\/p>\n<p>The\u2064 statute of limitations on the 2014 tax year has expired, meaning\u200b prosecutors cannot \u200cpursue any charges related to the criminal activity they may suspect took place.<\/p>\n<p>However, Archer\u2019s knowledge of the way Hunter \u2063Biden structured his complicated web of \u2063shell companies, including Rosemont Seneca, could inform investigators\u2019\u2064 understanding \u2063of steps Hunter Biden took \u200bin subsequent \u2064years \u2064to hide his\u200b income from the government.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors \u200csaid in court on\u200c Wednesday that Hunter Biden willfully avoided paying \u200btaxes in 2017 and 2018, and \u2064that even \u2064when he was forced to file\u2063 tax \u200creturns by a \u200b<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/attorney-representing-mother-of-hunter-bidens-3-year-old-daughter-i-expect-him-to-be-indicted\/\" title=\"Attorney Representing Mother Of Hunter Biden\u2019s 3-Year-Old Daughter: \u2018I Expect Him To Be Indicted\u2019\">child support lawsuit<\/a>, he lied to his accountants about personal expenses \u200bhe\u2019d masked as business expenses in order to lower his tax bill.<\/p>\n<p>Archer\u2064 has struggled with his own legal troubles.<\/p>\n<p>He faces \u2064a criminal conviction in an unrelated\u2062 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-biden-spoke-to-hunters-business-partners-at-least-24-times-former-associate-will-testify\/\" title=\"Joe Biden Spoke To Hunter\u2019s Business Partners At Least 24 Times, Former Associate Will Testify\">bond fraud case<\/a> for which he\u200b was sentenced\u200d to\u2063 a \u2062year in prison. His checkered past caused Joseph \u200bZiegler, one of the two IRS whistleblowers who \u2063have come forward to Congress, to mention the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-investigation-why-the-devon-archer-testimony-is-so-important\/\" title=\"Significance of Devon Archer's Testimony in Hunter Biden Investigation\">credibility problems\u200b investigators considered<\/a> when looking into the unusual payment structure of Hunter \u2062Biden\u2019s Burisma income.<\/p>\n<p>Although the president&#8217;s son was not implicated in Archer\u2019s bond fraud case, Hunter Biden\u2019s emails suggest the Justice\u200b Department was interested in\u2062 speaking to him about his \u200cpartner\u2019s business.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter \u200cBiden\u2019s\u2063 attorneys appear to have \u200bdrafted a letter to the Justice Department and \u200dthe Securities &#038; Exchange Commission\u2064 in 2016 as Archer faced an imminent indictment\u200c alongside six co-defendants \u200b\u2013 one of whom, emails show, \u200cHunter Biden also knew.<\/p>\n<p>Another email from \u20642016 appears to contain the questions investigators had for Hunter Biden about Archer, which included scrutiny \u200dof Rosemont Seneca\u2019s structure.<\/p>\n<p>Archer is also expected to testify \u200babout at least two \u2062dinners\u200c Hunter Biden arranged for his foreign \u200dbusiness partners to meet with Joe Biden in person, both of which occurred while Joe Biden was still vice president.<\/p>\n<p>One of the meetings involved Burisma \u200dbusiness.<\/p>\n<p>Because Archer also served\u200b on the Burisma \u2064board and helped\u2064 funnel Hunter Biden\u2019s Burisma earnings to \u200dhim, Archer could also serve\u2063 as a key witness in determining the authenticity of a bribery allegation against Hunter Biden and\u2062 his \u200dfather.<\/p>\n<p>A confidential human source that the FBI regarded as highly credible told the bureau in 2020 that, in 2015\u200b and 2016, Zlochevsky, the head of Burisma, privately\u200b indicated he had paid both Hunter and Joe Biden millions of dollars to shut down the Ukrainian investigation of their company.<\/p>\n<p>Zlochevsky had boasted that it would take investigators a\u200b decade to find the money he\u2019d sent \u200bto Joe Biden thanks to his network of \u200cbank accounts and companies, the source told the FBI.<\/p>\n<p>The explosive\u2062 allegation, memorialized in an FBI document that \u2064has since been made public, fits\u200d with much of the existing evidence\u2064 about the \u2063case.<\/p>\n<p>The Biden family did collect payments through\u2062 a tangled \u2062mess of companies and accounts, \u2064as the source said. The Biden family did work to help shield Zlochevsky from legal trouble, \u200bas \u2062the \u200dsource \u200dsaid Zlochevsky had asked them to \u200ddo.\u2062 And \u200bBurisma did appear to partner with a \u200dNorth American energy \u2062company that had an office in Texas, as the source said.<\/p>\n<p>Zlochevsky had apparently explained that part of what Burisma wanted from the Biden family were the connections to U.S. \u2063energy businesses\u200c that Burisma could ultimately buy and use\u200d to raise investments in the U.S.; the source had recalled that Zlochevsky mentioned a gas company in Texas, but\u2062 not\u200c what it was called.<\/p>\n<p>According to a 2016 article in the Kyiv Post, Burisma bought a large stake in a gas company with\u2064 an office in Houston.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When Devon Archer meets the House Oversight Committee on Monday, the Hunter Biden probe may escalate.
