In addition, alcohol and alprazolam \u2014 \u2063the drug contained in the anti-anxiety medication Xanax \u2014 were listed on his\u200d toxicology \u2062report.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis was 28.<\/p>\n<p>The initial report of his death \u2062came from Lewis\u2019 brother, \u200bRahsaan, in an Instagram Story, which automatically deletes after 24 \u2064hours.<\/p>\n<p>Per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2023\/06\/15\/ray-lewis-son-ray-lewis-iii-dead-28\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">TMZ<\/a> \u2063at the time, he wrote: \u201cReally can\u2019t believe I\u2019m even typing this but \u200bRIP\u2062 big brother.\u2063 A true\u200d angel \u200bI pray [you\u2019re] at peace now\u200d because [I know] how \u200bmuch \u2063you [were really] hurtin. I don\u2019t and won\u2019t ever \u200chave \u200cthe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ray-lewis-iii-son-of-hall-of-fame-linebacker-dies-at-age-28\/\" title=\"Ray Lewis III, son of Hall of Fame linebacker, passes away at 28.\">words man cuz<\/a> this pain right here\u2026.I love you I \u200blove you I love you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Rahsaan Lewis then appeared to refer \u200cto his own daughter while processing his grief.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYour \u200cniece gone miss you but she will\u2062 hear about u\u2063 over and \u2064over \u200djust watch over us all big \u200bbruh be our\u2062 guardian I promise I\u2019ll \u200dmake you smile and proud,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis\u2062 had carved out a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cause-of-death-revealed-for-ray-lewis-iii-son-of-hall-of-fame-linebacker-2\/\" title=\"Ray Lewis III's cause of death disclosed\">short \u2062football career<\/a> that had a clear\u200d impact\u2063 on those around \u2064him.<\/p>\n<p>Lewis signed\u2064 with the University of Miami out of high school but didn\u2019t play as\u200d a freshman. In 2015, \u2064he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baltimoresun.com\/sports\/ravens\/bal-ray-lewis-iii-transferring-from-miami-to-coastal-carolina-20150106-story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">transferred to Coastal Carolina<\/a>, and\u2064 two years later he moved on\u200b to Division II Virginia Union.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia \u2063Union associate head football coach Diego \u200bRyland told TMZ that\u2062 he was a \u201cgreat young man and \u2063a better teammate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u200dentire Virginia Union \u2063University community is praying for the family as they\u200d deal with the loss \u2063of Ray,\u201d\u2063 Ryland said.<\/p>\n<p>Condolences and prayers poured\u200c in across social media as outlets reported on the young man\u2019s untimely death.<\/p>\n<p>Former Ravens quarterback and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nfl-crawls-bed-lgbt-radicals-deserve-0-17-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NFL<\/a> Offensive Rookie of the Year Robert Griffin \u2062(currently \u200can analyst \u2062for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/espn-analyst-halts-show-pray-live-tv-going-loud-going-close-eyes-going-bow-head\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESPN<\/a>) was\u200c one of the first big\u2064 names \u2063to take to social media to pray for\u200b Lewis and his \u2062family.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Send a prayer \u2064up for Ray Lewis and\u2063 his\u200d family \u2062after the passing\u2062 of his son.
