This is where Trump\u2019s defamation claims fail.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Trump claimed that \u201cthe use of the phrase \u2018the Big Lie\u2019 constitutes defamation\u201d because it\u200c \u201ccreate[s] a false and\u2064 incendiary association \u2062between the\u200c Plaintiff and Hitler.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also argued that CNN\u200d using \u201cthe Big Lie\u201d is \u2063defamatory because it \u201chas incited readers and viewers to hate, contempt, distrust, ridicule, and even fear\u201d Trump, which caused \u201cinjury to\u200c the Plaintiff, \u2062the \u200bPlaintiff\u2019s reputation, and the Plaintiff\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-arizona-state-rep-issues-call-to-withhold-states-electoral-college-votes-to-joe-biden-due-to-significant-evidence-of-fraud\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Arizona State Rep Issues Call to Withhold State's Electoral College Votes to Joe Biden Due to Significant Evidence of Fraud\">political career<\/a>.\u201d Because of this, \u201cTrump claims that viewers and readers \u2018understood that Plaintiff would be Hitler-like in any future political role.'&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Singhal evaluated five instances Trump argued \u200cthe network defamed him, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-defamation-suit-against-cnn-for-painting-him-as-hitler-like-thrown-out-by-judge\/\" title=\"Judge dismisses Trump's defamation suit against CNN over 'Hitler-like' portrayal.\">including written columns<\/a> and on-air segments that ranged from comparing the former\u2062 president&#8217;s rhetoric with Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels to linking his efforts at narrative shaping to those used in &#8220;authoritarian states.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>However, Singhal determined the critiques \u2064of Trump were &#8220;opinion, not actually false statements.&#8221; Despite harsh criticisms of news outlets and readers, Singhal wrote that CNN or any other organization \u200boperating with a \u200d&#8221;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/high-school-football-coach-fired-for-privately-questioning-black-lives-matter-curricula\/\" title=\"High School Football Coach Fired For Privately Questioning Black Lives Matter Curricula\">political motivation<\/a> does not establish falsity.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Acknowledging that CNN acted with political \u200cenmity\u200d does not save this case; the Complaint alleges \u2063no false statements of fact,&#8221; he wrote. &#8220;Trump complains that CNN described his election challenges as &#8216;the Big Lie.&#8217; Trump argues that &#8216;the Big Lie&#8217; is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/accused-drunk-driver-who-killed-bride-on-wedding-night-sobs-her-life-is-going-to-be-over-now-report\/\" title=\"Drunk driver sobs after killing bride on wedding night, realizes her life is over.\">phrase attributed<\/a> \u200bto Joseph Goebbels and\u200d that CNN\u2019s use of the phrase wrongly links Trump with\u200d the Hitler regime in the public eye.
