The \u2064violation occurred when she\u200d encouraged people to\u2064 register \u2062to vote at an \u200d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/despite-assurances-from-the-white-house-washington-cant-stop-talking-about-replacing-biden\/\" title=\"Despite Assurances From The White House, Washington Can\u2019t Stop Talking About Replacing Biden\">abortion rights event<\/a> last summer.<\/p>\n<p>In an order from\u2064 the ethics board, Dhingra was fined $250 and is required to pay back $92.43, which was the reimbursement amount she received for her mileage to the conference. The event took place the day after the\u2062 United States\u2064 Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The board\u2064 ruled that Dhingra violated \u2062a state code about \u2063ethics in public service, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/washington-state-senator-fined-over-improper-use-of-public-resources-at-dobbs-response-event\/\" title=\"Washington <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/waffle-arizona-house-speaker-claims-they-cant-enforce-constitution-wont-commit-to-calling-legislative-hearing\/\" title=\"WAFFLE: Arizona House Speaker Claims They Can\u2019t Enforce Constitution, Won\u2019t Commit To Calling Legislative Hearing\">state senator<\/a> fined for misusing public resources at Dobbs response event.&#8221;>prohibits state officers<\/a> and legislators from using public resources for the purpose of assisting a campaign or \u2064promoting\/opposing a ballot proposition.<\/p>\n<p>According to the board&#8217;s\u200c order, &#8220;the use of public resources to solicit \u200dpeople to register to vote \u200cor \u200cadvise them how to vote is not considered normal and regular conduct for a legislative office and would violate\u2064 [the statute].&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The event\u200c was \u2062organized in response to the court&#8217;s ruling on\u2064 Dobbs v. Jackson Women\u2019s Health Organization. Dhingra,\u200b along with several state legislators and Governor Jay Inslee (D-WA), voiced their concerns about the need for increased protections for reproductive care.<\/p>\n<p>During the conference, Governor Inslee \u2064mentioned\u200b that Democratic governors from California and Oregon had come together to discuss a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pro-abortion-states-seek-to-become-safe-havens-for-women-seeking-abortions\/\" title=\"Pro-Abortion States Seek To Become \u2018Safe Havens\u2019 For Women Seeking Abortions\">multi-state commitment<\/a> to\u2064 protecting abortion \u200caccess and reproductive resources.<\/p>\n<p>Dhingra has stated that she\u200c will \u2063fulfill the reimbursements for her mileage expenses and pay the fine as \u2063ordered. She explained that she was invited by Governor Inslee\u200c to &#8220;comment\u2063 on the state response to the Dobbs decision&#8221; and was not aware \u2064that she\u200c couldn&#8217;t encourage people to \u200dregister \u200bto vote in her official capacity as a state senator.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Democratic Washington state Sen.
