Pritzker signed a bill\u200b on Thursday, that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/illinois-gov-pritzker-signs-law-barring-pregnancy-centers-from-using-misinformation\/\" title=\"Illinois Gov. Pritzker bans pregnancy centers from spreading 'misinformation'.\">prohibits pro-life pregnancy \u2064centers<\/a> from using \u201cdeceptive and unfair\u201d\u2064 tactics to avert women\u2063 from seeking an abortion.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">  \t<script>  \t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \t<\/script>  <\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilga.gov\/legislation\/fulltext.asp?DocName=10300SB1909enr&#038;GA=103&#038;SessionId=112&#038;DocTypeId=SB&#038;LegID=146759&#038;DocNum=1909&#038;GAID=17&#038;SpecSess=&#038;Session=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SB 1909<\/a>, or the Deceptive Practices of Limited Services\u2062 Pregnancy Centers \u200bAct, bars pregnancy centers from using fraudulent misinformation, deceptive practices, or misrepresentation \u201cthat interfere with an individual\u2019s ability to make autonomous, informed, and evidence-based decisions about the individual\u2019s reproductive health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The law \u200bgives Illinois Attorney General Kwame \u200dRaoul the power to investigate complaints against pregnancy centers. Those found in violation could be subject\u2063 to a fine of up to $50,000. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cWomen need\u2062 access\u200b to comprehensive, fact-based healthcare when making critical decision about their own health\u2014not manipulation or \u2063misinformation from politically motivated, non-medical actors,\u201d Pritzker \u2064(D-Ill) <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/gov.illinois.gov\/news\/press-release.26779.html\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a><strong>. <\/strong>\u201cBy empowering the Attorney\u200c General\u2019s office to battle deceptive practices, we\u2019re ensuring Illinoisans can make their\u200b own decisions about their bodies using accurate and safe \u200dinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Meanwhile, attorneys from the Thomas More Society \u2063immediately filed a federal \u2064lawsuit against the Attorney General \u200din an effort to stop the law from moving forward.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThis law is a blatant\u200c attempt to chill and silence pro-life speech under the guise of \u2018consumer protection,\u2019\u201d said Peter Breen, Thomas More Society Executive Vice President and Head of Litigation, and a former Illinois State Legislator. \u201cPregnancy help \u200dministries provide real options and assistance \u2064to women and families in need, but instead of\u2064 the praise they deserve, pro-abortion politicians are targeting these ministries with $50,000 fines and injunctions solely because of their pro-life viewpoint.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Stay informed!
