This decision has sparked\u200d an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ethics-complaint-filed-against-jen-psaki\/\" title=\"Ethics complaint filed against Jen Psaki\">ethics complaint filed<\/a> by activist and Metro Human \u200dRelations Counsel \u2062chair Maryam Abolfazli, who accuses them of discriminatory \u2062behavior as city officials.<\/p>\n<p>Abolfazli is \u200ccalling for \u200can\u200d investigation by Nashville&#8217;s \u2062Ethical \u2064Conduct Board\u2062 following the failed proposal to provide coverage, which was voted down 5-3. \u2063Democrat\u2063 Mayor John Cooper had strongly advocated for\u2062 the \u2063coverage, arguing that it would enhance \u200cemployee recruitment\u200b and \u2064retention.<\/p>\n<p>One of the main\u2062 points of contention \u200bfor Abolfazli \u200bis Jones&#8217; religious beliefs and her opposition\u200c to transgender surgeries,\u2064 particularly when\u200b performed on children.\u2063 Jones stated during the debate, &#8220;My God \u200bdoes not make mistakes. He creates \u200deach of us as he chooses. I\u200b will vote no. She\u2063 expressed concern that board \u200cmembers can make \u2063such \u200bdiscriminatory remarks without \u200dfacing consequences.<\/p>\n<p>R.J. Robles, a transgender \u2064woman and director of DEI\u200b for \u2063the city&#8217;s\u2063 Human Relations Counsel, threatened\u200b to resign from her position\u2063 if the coverage was not expanded.
