The department has also added a Mar-a-Lago maintenance worker\u2063 to the original\u200b indictment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is \u2063nothing more than a\u200d continued desperate and flailing attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their Department of Justice to harass President Trump and those around him,\u201d the\u2064 Trump campaign <a href=\"https:\/\/www.donaldjtrump.com\/news\/f67a3ac7-1ea6-4f77-87a4-947b60b72d05\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> in a statement. \u201cDeranged Jack Smith knows that they have no case and is casting \u2062about for any way to salvage their \u200cillegal witch hunt and to get someone other than Donald Trump to run \u200bagainst Crooked Joe Biden.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the 37 federal counts Trump is already facing, the DOJ\u2063 announced it is \u2062charging Trump with one count of willful retention of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/special-counsel-who-ignored-biden-bribery-slaps-trump-and-his-maintenance-guy-with-more-charges\/\" title=\"Special Counsel charges Trump and maintenance guy after ignoring Biden bribery.\">national defense information based<\/a> on the July\u2062 2021 Bedminster audio tape, which was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/trumps-new-charges-mar-lago-documents-case-explained-1815884\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">already<\/a> \u2062included in the original indictment. The department is also charging Trump with two new counts of obstruction for allegedly attempting to delete\u2062 security \u2063footage at his \u200bhome in Palm Beach, Florida, last summer around the time \u200dof the infamous Mar-a-Lago raid, where, according to the Trump family, federal agents aggressively searched <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/trump-melania-trumps-closet-mess-after-mar-a-lago-raid-2022-8?op=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Melania Trump\u2019s wardrobe<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/okmagazine.com\/p\/eric-trump-lashes-out-doj-going-through-barron-trump-underwear-drawer-fbi-raided\/\">Barron Trump\u2019s<\/a> underwear drawer.<\/p>\n<p>Newly added to the indictment \u2064is Carlos De Oliveira, Trump\u2019s property manager. The DOJ alleges De Oliveira aided the president \u2062in deleting the aforementioned surveillance\u200c footage and gave false \u2062statements to the FBI during a voluntary interview on Jan. 13 this year.<\/p>\n<p>Former Vice Presidents Joe Biden and Mike Pence have also kept classified documents, despite neither man having \u2064had the power to declassify documents. Yet they have not faced any charges. Additionally, while Trump\u2019s\u200c classified documents were kept in his private Mar-a-Lago home protected \u200bby the Secret Service, Biden\u2019s classified documents have reportedly been found in his <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/classified-documents-found-bidens-wilmington-home-garage-white\/story?id=96390141\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">garage<\/a> in Delaware and at the Penn Biden Center, a busy D.C. office <a href=\"https:\/\/101constitutionroofterrace.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">building<\/a> that spans \u201csome 10 stories and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/13-reasons-joe-biden-isnt-the-ethical-president-time-magazine-claims\/\" title=\"13 Reasons Joe Biden Isn't the 'Ethical' President as Time Magazine Claims\">included numerous public areas<\/a>,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/10\/theres-a-difference-between-biden-and-trumps-classified-documents-snafus-but-its-not-what-you-think\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">writes<\/a> The\u2062 Federalist\u2019s Margot Cleveland.<\/p>\n<p>The same day the\u2062 Justice \u200cDepartment \u200cadded more charges to the Trump indictment, \u2064it dropped the campaign finance charge against Democrat mega-donor (only <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/news\/doj-doesnt-intend-proceed-campaign-100108566.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">outspent<\/a> by George Soros) Sam Bankman-Fried.
