His \u200cfocus is on union\u200d voters, \u2063particularly in\u2062 the Midwestern states where he faced defeat in the 2020 election. The voting patterns of union workers will be \u200cclosely watched in the upcoming 2024 presidential\u2063 contest.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&#8217;s success\u2062 in winning the &#8220;blue \u200dwall&#8221; states of Wisconsin, \u2062Pennsylvania,\u200d and Michigan, where\u2063 the UAW is based, played \u2064a significant role in his previous election victory. However, Biden managed to flip these states back in 2020 by\u2064 emphasizing\u2062 his roots in\u2063 Scranton and \u200badopting some of Trump&#8217;s policies. If Trump becomes the \u2062GOP nominee, he\u2063 will once again attempt to \u2063win over\u200c the \u200dblue-collar \u200bunion voters who have shown a recent\u2064 trend towards supporting Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>Former Michigan\u2064 Democratic Rep. and UAW \u200cemployee Andy Levin dismisses Trump&#8217;s chances, \u200cstating, &#8220;My reaction is two\u2064 words: Dream \u2062on.&#8221; Levin, now \u2064a senior fellow at the Center for American \u2063Progress, acknowledges that Trump implemented \u200cpolicies that attracted potential Democratic voters. Levin predicts that these actions will be\u200d enough \u200cto retain the support\u2063 of union \u200dworkers \u200band keep the \u200dblue wall intact in the upcoming election.<\/p>\n<p>Despite facing skepticism from union leadership, Trump \u2063has already \u2064garnered endorsements from over a dozen unions. According to Edison research, \u200dBiden won 57% of \u200bunion households nationwide in 2020, \u2063compared to Trump&#8217;s 40%. This was twice the margin of Hillary Clinton&#8217;s advantage \u2064among union voters in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Biden, who frequently visits\u2062 the Rust Belt, warns \u200dthat manufacturing jobs are \u2062at risk if he does \u200bnot secure \u200bthe White \u200cHouse in the next election. They&#8217;re coming for your jobs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The UAW \u2064union has yet\u200b to endorse a \u200ccandidate due to concerns that the rise\u200d of electric vehicles will lead to job losses in auto plants. Trump claims that he would fight harder for auto workers than Biden. However, \u2063UAW\u2063 spokesman Jim McNeill declined to comment on the Trump\u200b video, stating, &#8220;We don&#8217;t have anything new on that front.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Despite \u2064Trump&#8217;s efforts, the likelihood\u200b of receiving the \u2064UAW&#8217;s \u2062endorsement is\u200c slim. In terms of labor leadership, Biden seems to be doing pretty\u200b well.
