Nauta, Trump\u2019s valet, was indicted in June,\u200d according to the Post.<\/p>\n<p>Both Trump\u200b and Nauta pleaded not guilty to the charges\u200b in the initial indictment.<\/p>\n<p>De Oliveira reportedly helped Nauta\u200b move boxes at Mar-a-Lago last summer and allegedly had conversations about security footage.<\/p>\n<p>In response to the latest charges, Trump spokesman \u200cSteven Cheung criticized them as <strong>\u201ca \u200ccontinued desperate \u200dand \u200dflailing attempt\u201d<\/strong> to harass the former president and those around him, the Post reported.<\/p>\n<h3>Updated Charges and Trial Date<\/h3>\n<p>The original indictment included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-trump-indictment-unsealed-worse-initially-reported\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">31 counts<\/a> of willful \u2063retention \u2064of national defense information.<\/p>\n<p>The three defendants now face charges \u200bof altering, destroying, \u2064mutilating, or concealing an object and corruptly \u200daltering, destroying, \u2064mutilating, or concealing a document or object.\u200c De Oliveira is additionally charged with lying to\u200c the FBI.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/now-know-start-date-trumps-document-trial-right-several-key-primaries\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trial\u2063 date<\/a> has \u2063been set for the case in May in the \u2062thick of\u2062 the 2024\u2063 presidential primary.<\/p>\n<h3>Other Ongoing Investigations and Charges<\/h3>\n<p>Separately, special counsel Jack Smith\u2019s team is investigating Trump\u2019s actions in the aftermath of the 2020 election and in the lead-up to \u2062the Capitol incursion.
