Former President\u2062 Donald \u200bTrump later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-announces-new-round-pardons-time-including-paul-manafort\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pardoned<\/a> him.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden and his attorneys freaked out when federal\u2063 prosecutors \u200ctold Noreika future FARA or other \u200cindictments could be coming. The first son then withdrew from the plea deal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRip it up!\u201d Biden attorney Christopher\u2064 Clark said, referring to the agreement, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/hunter-bidens-plea-deal-fell-apart-now-dramatic\/story?id=101671356\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs far \u2062as I\u2019m concerned,\u2064 the plea agreement is null and void,\u201d \u200cthe lawyer further stated, which stirred audible\u200c gasps in the courtroom.<\/p>\n<p>Biden then pleaded\u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-biden-changes-plea-original-sweetheart-deal-falls-apart-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not guilty<\/a> to \u200cthe tax-evasion crimes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/page-2-hunter-bidens-conditions-release-orders-get-job-not\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Noreika<\/a> instructed \u2062the parties to submit legal briefs on the plea deal proposal within 30 days, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2023\/07\/26\/hunter-biden-tax-charges\/70455706007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a> \u200d reported.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Attorney Leo Wise responded that 14 days would be sufficient, but\u200b the \u200bjudge\u200d set no specific date for \u200dthe next hearing.<\/p>\n<p>Conceivably the case could \u2062go to trial and Biden could be convicted. And during the course of the trial, many embarrassing revelations\u2062 about\u200c President\u2064 Joe Biden could emerge, particularly \u2064given recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/democratic-rep-savages-whistleblower-doesnt-realize-proving-big-point-hunter-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">whistleblower testimony<\/a> before the\u200b House Oversight Committee.<\/p>\n<p>The president and \u2062Hunter Biden have each been accused\u2063 of taking\u200b <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/comer-vindicated-raskin-refuted-doj-letter-confirms-investigation-biden-bribery-ongoing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$5 million bribes<\/a> from the Ukrainian energy firm Burisma while the elder Biden was vice\u200c president, according to an FBI whistleblower form \u2062viewed by the Oversight Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Joe Biden could use his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-says-no-consideration-of-hunter-biden-pardon\/\" title=\"White House denies Hunter Biden pardon consideration.\">presidential pardon power<\/a> to make all this go away.<\/p>\n<p>It protects him from impeachment by House Republicans, but the chances of him\u2063 being convicted in \u2062the Democratically-controlled Senate \u200care next to zero.<\/p>\n<p>Turley spelled out why a Hunter pardon and\u200d exit\u2064 from the 2024 race could be President Biden\u2019s next-best moves.<\/p>\n<p>The ultimate \u201cbreak the glass option,\u201d Turley wrote for <a href=\"https:\/\/themessenger.com\/opinion\/bidens-break-the-glass-option-pardon-hunter-and-withdraw-from-the-2024-election\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Messenger<\/a>, is \u201cJoe Biden could \u2064pardon his son and then announce that he will not run for \u200creelection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFacing an impeachment inquiry, low \u2062public support, and a son in the legal dock, Biden \u2064could use the \u200bcase to close out his political career,\u201d he argued.<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Kevin McCarthy told \u2063reporters Thursday that an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/kevin-mccarthy-puts-biden-crosshairs-doubles-impeachment-inquiry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">impeachment inquiry<\/a> is on the table.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted the bribery allegations. The Constitution specially <a href=\"https:\/\/constitution.congress.gov\/browse\/essay\/artII-S4-1\/ALDE_00000282\/#:~:text=S4.-,1%20Overview%20of%20Impeachment%20Clause,other%20high%20Crimes%20and%20Misdemeanors.&#038;text=U.S.%20Const.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lists bribery<\/a> as an impeachable offense.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">  BREAKING: Speaker McCarthy addresses calls for an impeachment inquiry to be opened into Joe Biden \u200c <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/53IoO23nxz\">pic.twitter.com\/53IoO23nxz<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Benny Johnson (@bennyjohnson) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/bennyjohnson\/status\/1684654763827249158?\">July 27, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Turley wrote that \u2064a Biden \u2064\u201cpardon would be what I consider\u2062 another abuse of the pardon power\u200b for personal benefit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He compared it to\u200b then-President Bill Clinton\u2019s decision to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/pardon\/pardons-granted-president-william-j-clinton-1993-2001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pardon his half-brother<\/a> Roger Clinton of\u2064 drug offenses on the last day of his presidency in January\u2064 2001.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBiden could do the same by acknowledging that the pardoning of his son is a form of raw self-dealing. However, as he has said throughout\u200d the scandal, he loves his son and \u200dblames his crimes on his struggle with addiction and grieving,\u201d \u2063Turley said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith that, Biden could bow out of the election without admitting (as many on both sides are saying) that old age has taken \u2062its toll \u200bon his mental and \u2063physical capacity. He\u200d would end his\u2064 political career with an act\u2063 as a father, which some would condemn but most would understand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u2064<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-may-have-to-use-his-break-the-glass-option-to-keep-hunter-out-of-jail-top-law-professor\/\" title=\"Top law professor suggests Biden may need to resort to extreme measures to prevent Hunter from going to jail.\">law professor pointed<\/a> out that Biden could even give Hunter a \u201cpreemptive or prospective pardon\u201d that \u201cwould effectively end any\u2064 federal \u2064investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Further, by \u2063becoming a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jane-fonda-demands-biden-shut-down-trump-pipelines\/\" title=\"Jane Fonda Demands Biden Shut Down Trump Pipelines\">lame-duck president<\/a>, Biden would take the air out of the GOP impeachment push.<\/p>\n<p>Members of \u2063Congress would reason, \u201cWhat\u2019s the point of impeaching\u200d him if\u2062 he\u2019ll be out of\u200b office soon anyway?\u201d Of course, that didn\u2019t\u2062 stop the Democrats from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/5-page-transcript-democrats-trying-impeach-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">impeaching Trump<\/a> around this point\u2062 in his presidency and again in the \u2063closing days of his time in office.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted, when asked Thursday if\u200c there is any possibility President Biden \u200bwould pardon \u200bhis son, White House\u200b press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre \u2064responded \u201cno.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Karine Jean-Pierre says there is \u201cno\u201d possibility Joe Biden will pardon his son Hunter <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eDFSxEyCGL\">pic.twitter.com\/eDFSxEyCGL<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1684633419928752128?\">July 27, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Keep in mind, that her response is in the \u2064current context \u2063of the criminal case still being ongoing and another plea deal possibly\u2063 being struck.<\/p>\n<p>A reporter called out to \u2062President Biden Thursday, asking whether a Hunter pardon could be in the offing. He did \u2064not respond, but again, it\u2019s premature. He \u200dwill likely have to respond in the not-too-distant future and say something noncommittal about loving \u200dand supporting his son and not dealing in hypotheticals.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Biden stumbles away without taking any \u200dquestions\u200b \u2014 including questions on whether he\u2019d pardon\u200c Hunter <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Wdxb3LVPoH\">pic.twitter.com\/Wdxb3LVPoH<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1684602888868261888?\">July 27, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Turley contended that Biden would potentially help his stature by being \u200cthe \u201csin-eater\u201d for \u2062the family by sacrificing\u2062 a potential second term.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, under this option, Biden and Hunter would get off scot-free, but the country would \u2064be\u200d spared another four years of incompetency and worse.<\/p>\n<p>California Gov. Gavin Newsom \u2014 and probably other Democrats \u2014\u200d would no doubt then announce their presidential candidacies, making for a whole new 2024 contest.<\/p>\n<p>Will Republican chances be\u2062 better or worse off in 2024? Who knows? We\u2019ll see who emerges on the Democratic side.<\/p>\n<p>Turley may \u2064be\u2062 on \u2062to something.
