Version: 4.0.47--><h2>To say that Hunter Biden had\u200b a \u2063bad \u2064day in federal court on Wednesday is an understatement.<\/h2>\n<p>It was just supposed to be a routine\u200b short hearing in Wilmington, Delaware, during which U.S. District Judge\u200b Maryellen \u2062Noreika would sign off on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/top-law-professor-hunter-biden-court-debacle-case-doj-hoisted-petard-bid-hold-off-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sweetheart plea deal<\/a> reached by Biden\u2019s attorneys \u200dand federal prosecutors last month.<\/p>\n<p>Biden would then ride off\u200c into the \u2062sunset free\u2063 from any concerns about being prosecuted\u200b for past alleged wrongdoing.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile his father, \u200dPresident \u2063Joe \u200cBiden, could run for re-election without a criminal trial delving into \u2064his \u200bfamily\u2019s shady <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bank-records-dont-lie-gop-reps-uncovered-disturbing-findings-hunter-biden-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">overseas business\u200d dealings<\/a> including in Ukraine and China.<\/p>\n<p>But things didn\u2019t go as planned.<\/p>\n<p>The hearing that \u200dwas expected\u200c to\u200b take\u2064 perhaps minutes \u200dturned into\u200d three \u200bhours, <a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Politics\/hunter-bidens-plea-deal-fell-apart-now-dramatic\/story?id=101671356\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC News<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Biden was to plead guilty to two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/inside-the-3-hour-hearing-that-destroyed-hunter-bidens-plea-deal-really-bad-for-everyone\/\" title=\"3-Hour Hearing Shatters Hunter Biden's Plea Deal: A Disaster for All\">misdemeanor tax\u200d evasion \u2063charges<\/a>, \u2064while \u200da third <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/he-did-absolutely-nothing-wrong-florida-sheriff-wont-charge-homeowner-who-fired-reported-ak-47-type-weapon-at-home-invaders\/\" title=\"\u2018He Did Absolutely Nothing Wrong\u2019: Florida Sheriff Won\u2019t Charge Homeowner Who Fired Reported AK-47 Type Weapon At Home Invaders\">illegal gun possession charge<\/a> would be diverted for \u2064two years and dropped altogether if he adhered to certain terms, including being drug-free during\u2063 that time period.<br \/>\nHowever, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/breaking-hunter-bidens-original-sweetheart-plea-deal-falls-apart-appears-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deal fell through<\/a> when Noreika called into \u2062question the blanket\u2062 immunity from future prosecution that\u2063 Biden\u2019s attorneys\u2064 believed the agreement\u2064 included.<\/p>\n<p>Under questioning from the judge, federal prosecutors denied the agreement\u2062 offered immunity from future prosecution, such as under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/nsd-fara\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">explains<\/a> that FARA requires, \u201ccertain agents of \u2063foreign principals who are engaged in political\u2064 activities or other\u200b activities specified\u200c under the statute to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-doj-investigating-lobbying-firm-linked-to-hunter-biden\/\" title=\"REPORT: DOJ Investigating Lobbying Firm Linked To Hunter Biden\">make periodic public disclosure<\/a> of their relationship\u2062 with the foreign principal, as well \u200bas activities, receipts\u200d and disbursements in support of those activities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Federal prosecutors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/nsd-fara\/recent-cases#:~:text=Manafort%2C%20Jr.%2C%20pleaded%20guilty,justice%20by%20tampering%20with%20witnesses.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">charged<\/a> former Trump campaign manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-announces-new-round-pardons-time-including-paul-manafort\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paul Manafort<\/a> \u200b with multiple FARA violations in\u200c 2018 and extracted a guilty plea \u2064for failing\u2064 to register as an agent of the government of Ukraine. He was sentenced to 73 months in prison.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden earned a reported <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2021\/05\/26\/hunter-bidens-ukraine-salary-was-cut-after-joe-biden-left-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$1 million per year<\/a> to sit on \u200bthe board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma, and accounts associated with him received roughly $5 million from Chinese energy firm CEFC, according to the\u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/07\/11\/biden-aides-wont-comment-on-first-family-fara-exposure\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/hunter-biden-plea-foreign-agent-fara-revelation-collapse\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington Examiner<\/a> reported\u200c that the \u200byounger Biden \u201ccommunicated with U.S. government employees in\u200c their official capacity about [Burisma] \u2062 during\u2062 the Obama administration, a fact conservative group \u2062America\u200d First Legal uncovered in emails it obtained from the National Archives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, \u200cAmerica First Legal <a href=\"https:\/\/aflegal.org\/america-first-legal-sues-attorney-general-merrick-garland-and-the-biden-department-of-justice-for-failing-to-require-hunter-biden-to-register-as-a-foreign-agent-while-joe-biden-was-vice-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sued<\/a> Attorney\u200c General Merrick Garland \u2064and the DOJ for failing to \u200benforce FARA in relation to\u2063 the\u200d president\u2019s son.<\/p>\n<p>After Noreika raised the possibility of FARA violations,\u2062 a federal prosecutor told her\u200c they could still be \u200bon \u2063the table.<\/p>\n<p>Biden attorney Christopher Clark\u2063 then reportedly became\u200b angry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t know what you\u2019re trying to accomplish,\u201d Clark said, speaking to prosecutors, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/hunter-biden-plea-deal-court-judge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBS News<\/a> reported. \u201cWe\u2019ll rip it up!\u201d he added referring to the plea agreement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs\u2063 far as I\u2019m\u2064 concerned, the plea agreement is null and void,\u201d Clark also stated, which stirred \u200baudible gasps in the courtroom, according to ABC News.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMeanwhile,\u200b a visibly agitated Hunter Biden transitioned from sitting to standing, summoning various members of\u2062 his legal team to discuss\u2063 developments, and consulting with Clark,\u201d ABC said.<\/p>\n<p>Moments later,\u2064 Clark\u200c was\u200d overheard \u200btelling\u200d prosecutors, \u201cReally bad for everyone \u2026 no good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2023\/07\/27\/rejected-plea-deal-leaves-hunter-biden-team-fuming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axios<\/a> reported that Biden could be\u2062 seen partially throwing his hands up in the air, \u200capparently frustrated \u200dthe case would not be \u200ccoming to a close.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know you wanted\u200c to get \u2064this \u200cdone,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/page-2-hunter-bidens-conditions-release-orders-get-job-not\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Noreika<\/a> told Biden. \u201cI\u2019m \u200dsorry, but I need \u200bmore information. \u200cWe need to get this right.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This is Judge Maryellen Noreika, she\u2064 is living proof there is hope \u2064&#038; Integrity for our justice system we need more Judges like \u200cher to base cases\u200b on the law, \u2064not by\u200b the political party! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4J2iKg3Q7S\">pic.twitter.com\/4J2iKg3Q7S<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 1mZerOCool (@1mZerOCool) \u200d <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/1mZerOCool\/status\/1684567440314060801?\">July 27, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Biden ultimately withdrew from the plea deal \u2062and pleaded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-biden-changes-plea-original-sweetheart-deal-falls-apart-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">not guilty<\/a> to the crimes.<\/p>\n<p>So it was a really bad day for \u200bBiden, but \u200cperhaps the forerunner to a good \u200dday for\u2063 the cause of justice.<\/p>\n<p>The post <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/inside-3-hour-hearing-destroyed-hunter-bidens-plea-deal-really-bad-everyone\/\">Inside the 3-Hour Hearing\u2062 That Destroyed Hunter Biden&#8217;s Plea Deal: &#8216;Really Bad for Everyone&#8217;<\/a> appeared first on <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\">The Western\u200b Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hunter Biden had a disastrous day in federal court.
