Rajkumar emphasizes that the intention behind the letter is not\u2063 to \u2064embarrass President Biden but\u200d to draw attention to the \u200bseverity\u200b of the crisis. To \u2062address the crisis, New York City has already allocated $1.2 billion since last summer.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Eric Adams has\u200c described \u2062the arrival of approximately 2,500 asylum seekers every week as a &#8220;silent crisis&#8221; for the city.
