He had to make edits and cuts\u200b to certain parts of the video to comply with copyright\u2062 regulations.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px; Fox had asked for the specific lyrics of\u2062 the song, and was provided with a link to\u2062 the\u200b actual song\u200c by the production company.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Fox reportedly reached out to the production company and ask them to cut the footage in \u2063question\u2064 in order to avoid any legal action, the company complied. Sources said that the request was a \u201cpolite ultimatum.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new version \u2063of the video is three\u200c minutes\u2062 and two seconds \u200clong while the original version was \u2064three \u200bminutes and\u2062 eight seconds. Along with six seconds being cut from the music video, some of the footage was\u200b also replaced with Jason\u200d Aldean performing \u2062the \u200csong in front of\u200b a courthouse building.<\/p>\n<p>A representative from BBR Music Group,\u200c Aldean\u2019s record label, confirmed that the video footage was edited due to third party copyright \u2064issues.<\/p>\n<p>The song which was \u200breleased in May talks about the violence, riots, and chaos in big cities while saying that those actions would \u2062not be accepted in small\u2062 towns because small town people\u2063 look after one another. When the music video \u2062was released, Aldean and \u200dthe song received major backlash, which also led to CMT pulling the\u200d music \u2064video \u200cfrom its\u2064 rotation.<\/p>\n<p>After the music video was \u200dreleased, Aldean took to \u200dsocial media to clarify the meaning behind the song, and to address the backlash.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIn the past 24 hours I have been\u2063 accused \u2062of releasing \u200ca pro-lynching song (a song that has been out since May) and was subject to the comparison that I (direct quote) was not too pleased with the nationwide BLM protests,\u201d he \u200bsaid. \u201cThese references are not only meritless, but dangerous. There is not\u200c a single lyric in the song that references race or\u2063 points to it \u2014 and there isn\u2019t \u2064a\u200d single video clip \u200cthat isn\u2019t real \u2062news footage \u2014 and while I can try and respect others to have their own interpretation of a song with music \u2014 this one goes too \u2063far.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As of Thursday, the music \u2064video\u2064 has over 20 million views \u2062on Youtube, and\u2062 is\u2062 the number two trending for music on the site.<\/p>\n<p>The song has also reached\u200b number two on Billboard\u2019s global chart, and is the top \u200csong on the country chart.
