County health officials urge residents to wear masks at home to protect vulnerable | One America News Network\">health care system<\/a> by specifically\u200d denying\u2062 transgender Missourians under the age\u200b of eighteen access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/missouri-sued-over-law-banning-sex-change-procedures-on-children\/\" title=\"Missouri faces lawsuit over ban on child sex change procedures.\">evidence-based gender-affirming \u2062medical care<\/a> while stripping \u2064parents of their fundamental right to make medical decisions for their children,\u201d Deputy Director of Litigation for the ACLU\u200d of\u200d Missouri Gillian Wilcox said in a statement.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The lawsuit argues that \u2062Missouri&#8217;s law is discriminatory as it prohibits procedures \u2063such as\u200c double mastectomies for girls who identify as boys and the administration\u200c of cross-sex hormones and puberty \u2064blockers\u2064 to children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Governor Mike Parson, who\u2063 signed \u200bthe law known as the Save Adolescents\u2063 from Experimentation (SAFE) Act, stands by the legislation, \u2064stating that it aims to \u2063protect Missouri children from irreversible treatments and procedures. The law also prohibits the \u200dstate&#8217;s Medicaid \u200dprogram from\u200d covering transgender treatments for\u2064 adults.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Missouri \u2062Attorney General Andrew Bailey has expressed his intention to defend \u2064the\u200c law, emphasizing the lack\u200d of FDA approvals for puberty\u200d blockers\u2064 and\u200d cross-sex hormones in treating \u2064gender dysphoria in children. He vows not to\u200c allow left-wing ideologues to experiment on children in Missouri.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Challenges to\u200d Transgender\u2063 Procedure Laws<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Over 20 states have passed \u200blaws similar \u200cto Missouri&#8217;s, seeking\u2063 to protect children from transgender procedures. However, left-wing groups have challenged these laws on constitutional grounds, arguing that they violate the 14th Amendment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">While some states&#8217; laws have been temporarily put on \u200dhold, others have withstood court challenges.
