As a result, the hearing ended with\u200d Hunter Biden \u2064entering\u2063 a plea of not guilty to the charges against him. The \u2062two sides are now expected to iron out a new deal.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>A report from \u2064 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2023\/07\/27\/rejected-plea-deal-leaves-hunter-biden-team-fuming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axios<\/a> on Thursday summed up the mood of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-biden-files-telling-legal-motion-sweetheart-plea-deal-backfires-horribly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biden\u2019s attorneys<\/a> as \u2062\u201cangry,\u201d dejected\u201d and \u201cfuming.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Some on Team Hunter claimed the fact\u2062 that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/white-house-issues-statement-hunter-bidens-day-federal-court-goes-off-rails\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Noreika<\/a> was appointed by \u200cthen-President Donald Trump in 2017 was possibly significant, the report said. Trump is the\u200d front-runner among Republican candidates vying to take on Biden in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Noreika had questioned the two sides about the agreement, revealing that they\u200d could not agree on whether the \u200bresolution to the gun charge\u2064 was linked to the tax\u200d deal, and the judge said she was unsure the deal was constitutional.<\/p>\n<p>Differences\u200c also emerged over\u2064 whether the deal ended all\u2064 matters concerning Hunter Biden, with the government saying it did not\u200d and Biden\u2019s lawyers viewing the agreement \u200ddifferently.<\/p>\n<p>Amid the hours of back-and-forth, Biden partially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/top-law-professor-hunter-biden-court-debacle-case-doj-hoisted-petard-bid-hold-off-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">threw\u200b up his hands<\/a> in apparent frustration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know you wanted to get this done,\u201d Noreika \u200dtold the president\u2019s son. \u201cI\u2019m sorry, but I need \u2063more information. We \u200bneed to get this right.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/live\/2023\/07\/26\/us\/hunter-biden-plea-tax-charges\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The New\u200c York Times<\/a> reported\u200c that at various times during the hearing, the judge called the deal \u201cnot standard, not what I normally see,\u201d possibly \u201cunconstitutional,\u201d unprecedented\u200d and potentially \u201cnot worth the paper it is \u2062printed on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou all are saying, \u2018Just rubber stamp the agreement,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cI\u2019m not\u2064 in a position to accept or reject it. I need to defer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At one\u200b point, Noreika asked prosecutor Leo Weiss whether \u200cthe deal would avert the prosecution of Hunter\u2064 Biden for allegedly breaking\u2062 laws regulating foreign lobbying. Weiss said it would not, leading Biden to say he would not accept\u200b a deal without broad immunity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDistrict Judge Noreika did the right thing by refusing to rubberstamp Hunter Biden\u2019s sweetheart plea\u2062 deal,\u201d House Oversight Committee chairman and Republican Rep.
