He was expected \u200dto plead guilty and accept a plea deal which would result \u2062in two \u200dyears of probation and immunity from future charges.<\/p>\n<p>However, \u200dthe deal \u2064fell apart after the prosecution did not provide\u200b the immunity \u2063from future charges.\u2063 The prosecutors sad that an investigation into the younger Biden is ongoing and that charges may brought against him in the future in regards with not registering as a foreign\u2063 agent.<\/p>\n<p>After the deal fell apart, Biden pled not guilty\u200b to the charges\u200b and\u200b was granted a conditional release. Hunter must comply with all the listed conditions or risk being immediately arrested.<\/p>\n<p>The conditions \u2063that Hunter must \u2062abide by include not possessing a firearm, not using or possessing \u200dany controlled\u2063 substances\u2064 (including marijuana) unless prescribed, not using alcohol, submitting to prohibited\u200d substances\u200b testing, participating in substance abuse therapy, actively seeking employment, \u2062and \u200bsubmitting to full federal supervision.<\/p>\n<p>If Hunter is to violate any of the listed conditions the penalties could\u2062 include immediate \u2062issuance of an arrest warrant, revocation of release, forfeiture of bond,\u2064 and prosecution for contempt of court.<\/p>\n<p>The turn of events came as a surprise since the deal had been the result of careful negotiations \u200blasting over several weeks between the Justice Department and Hunter\u2019s attorneys.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans, like James Comer (R-Ky.) the\u2064 Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, who have previously said that Hunter was getting off easy and receiving a \u201csweetheart\u201d deal agreed with \u2062District Judge Noreika\u2019s decision saying that the previous plea deal \u201cbelongs in the trash.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cDistrict \u2062Judge Noreika \u2062did the right thing by refusing to\u2064 rubberstamp Hunter Biden\u2019s sweetheart plea deal,\u201d Comer said. \u2062\u201cBut \u200blet\u2019s be clear: Hunter\u2019s sweetheart \u2062plea deal belongs in \u200dthe trash.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Stay informed!
