That day, his \u2062team was to compete against a team that had a male snowboarder who identifies as\u2064 a female and competes against females,\u201d the lawsuit states. While in the lodge,\u2063 Bloch says he overheard a conversation between two of his student-athletes and briefly\u2062 joined \u200bin.<\/p>\n<p>Bloch \u201caffirmed that as \u200ba matter of biology, males and females have different DNA,\u2064 which\u2063 causes males to develop differently from females and \u2063have different\u2063 physical characteristics.\u201d He added that \u201cbiological \u200bdifferences generally give males competitive advantages in athletic events\u201d \u2014 something you must pretend\u200c is \u200c <em>deeply<\/em> controversial, despite \u2063the\u2064 fact that a large majority of Americans agree.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new Gallup <a href=\"https:\/\/news.gallup.com\/poll\/507023\/say-birth-gender-dictate-sports-participation.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">survey<\/a> released in\u2064 June, nearly 70 percent of U.S. adults \u200cbelieve transgender-identifying athletes \u201cshould only be \u200ballowed to compete on \u200dsports teams\u200c that conform with \u200dtheir birth gender\u201d as opposed to their \u201ccurrent gender identity.\u201d Meanwhile, a Pew Research Center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/social-trends\/2022\/06\/28\/americans-complex-views-on-gender-identity-and-transgender-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a> \u200cfrom\u200b last\u2062 year found that 6 in 10 Americans \u201csay \u2062a person\u2019s gender \u2064is determined by their sex assigned at birth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe \u200cconversation was \u200drespectful among all parties and lasted \u200dno more than three minutes. It took place entirely outside the presence\u200b of \u2064the transgender-identifying snowboarder,\u201d the \u200dlawsuit states. \u201cCoach\u200d Bloch\u2019s team and\u200b the team \u2062with the male who identifies as a\u2062 female\u2063 competed without incident. After the competition, the two teams and their\u200c coaches, including Coach Bloch, shared \u200ca bus home.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-998b5151f8d9bd097d730a9a2d1601c4 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-998b5151f8d9bd097d730a9a2d1601c4\"><\/div>\n<p>But it didn\u2019t matter. Bloch had \u200ccommitted wrongthink.<\/p>\n<p>The coach \u200cwas allegedly handed a notice of termination the very next\u200b day by Windsor Central Supervisory Union \u200cSuperintendent Sherry Sousa. He was accused of violating the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chicago-mayor-bends-knee-to-teacher-union-allows-remote-learning-after-threat-of-strike\/\" title=\"Chicago Mayor Bends Knee to Teacher Union, Allows Remote Learning After Threat of Strike\">school district\u2019<\/a>s harassment, hazing, and\u2064 bullying (HHB) \u200cpolicy as well as a related policy of the Vermont Principals\u2019 Association (VPA), which oversees high \u2062school sports in the state. <\/p>\n<p>Bloch was also \u200b\u201cbarred from future employment\u201d with the district.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo one\u200d should lose their job\u2062 for speaking the \u200ctruth. The First Amendment protects the rights of all \u2064Americans to peacefully share their beliefs without fear of government punishment. This means that government officials cannot terminate an employee simply because he expresses a belief that they do not like,\u201d ADF said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/adflegal.org\/article\/first-amendment-wipeout-vermont-school-district-fires-snowboarding-coach\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f2b00840a333a00010c7f27cf19da3d0 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f2b00840a333a00010c7f27cf19da3d0\"><\/div>\n<p>Specifically, the lawsuit\u2064 argues that the \u2063HBB and VPA policies, as well as a Vermont <a href=\"https:\/\/legislature.vermont.gov\/statutes\/section\/16\/009\/00570\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statute<\/a> requiring school boards to adopt such policies, \u200b\u201ccontain content and viewpoint discriminatory, overbroad, and\u2064 unconstitutionally vague definitions\u200d of harassment that \u2026\u200b censor protected speech.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The complaint notes that Bloch is \u201ca practicing Roman Catholic\u200b who believes\u2062 that God creates \u2062males and females with \u200bimmutable sex. His understanding \u2062of science complements his religious beliefs. Coach \u2063Bloch believes, based on scientific evidence, that there are only two sexes, \u200cwhich are male and female, and\u200b that sex is determined by a \u200dperson\u2019s chromosomes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Views like these \u2064terrify elites and the corporate press. In a\u200c May <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/education\/2023\/05\/05\/trans-poll-gop-politics-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">article<\/a>, The Washington Post bemoaned that \u201cMost Americans don\u2019t believe it\u2019s even possible to be \u2064a gender that differs from that assigned at birth\u201d \u2062and worried that (God forbid) some in the country \u201chave become more conservative on these questions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s worth highlighting the irony that those\u200b requiring you to deny the reality of sex today are often \u2062the very same\u2062 people who spent the past three years demanding you \u201cfollow the science!\u201d \u2062 <\/p>\n<p>Suffice to say, these are \u2063not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ukraine-crisis-adds-to-pressure-for-biden-to-reopen-keystone-xl-pipeline\/\" title=\"Ukraine Crisis Adds to Pressure for Biden to Reopen Keystone XL Pipeline\">good-faith actors<\/a>; \u200dthey\u2019re liars and propagandists interested only in advancing a political agenda.
