White House acknowledged the Department of Justice\u2019s (DOJ) \u200d<a Hunter investigation 'handled independently' despite DOJ's plea deal rejection.\">tax crime investigation<\/a> into the president\u2019s troubled son, Hunter Biden, saying the matter was \u201chandled independently\u201d after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sidney-powell-is-an-american-legal-giant\/\" title=\"Sidney Powell Is an American Legal Giant\">federal judge<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-biden-changes-plea-original-sweetheart-deal-falls-apart-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejected<\/a> his \u2064plea agreement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis case was handled\u2063 independently, as all of\u200b you know,\u200c by the Justice Department, under the \u2064leadership of \u2062a prosecutor appointed by the former president, President Trump,\u201d White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said during \u2063the\u200c briefing.<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Pierre declined to give further details, pointing\u2063 out that Hunter Biden is a\u2064 \u201cprivate citizen and this is a personal matter for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe president, the \u2063first lady, they love their \u200cson,\u201d she said. \u200c\u201cAnd\u2064 they support him as he continues to rebuild his life.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>A Federal Judge \u200cRejects Plea\u2063 Deal<\/h3>\n<p>The exchange took place shortly after Maryellen Noreika, a federal judge in Delaware, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hunter-biden-changes-plea-original-sweetheart-deal-falls-apart-court\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rejected<\/a> the government\u2019s plea deal for Hunter Biden, in which he \u2064would have pleaded guilty to\u2064 misdemeanor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bank-records-dont-lie-gop-reps-uncovered-disturbing-findings-hunter-biden-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tax crimes<\/a> and \u2063been granted immunity from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-issues-statement-as-hunter-bidens-day-in-federal-court-goes-off-the-rails\/\" title=\"White House comments on chaotic day in Hunter Biden's federal court appearance.\">future criminal \u200ccharges<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou all are telling me \u2018just rubber stamp the \u200dagreement, Your Honor,&#8217;\u201d Noreika told prosecutors, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2023\/07\/26\/hunter-biden-tax-charges\/70455706007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>Noreika went on to demand prosecutors \u200cand\u2063 Biden\u2019s legal team work on a fresh \u2063agreement, adding that \u200cshe would need time\u2063 to review\u200c the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden is consequently pleading \u201cnot guilty\u201d until a \u2063deal is hammered out.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout me saying\u2062 I\u2019ll agree to the plea agreement, how do you plead?\u201d Noreika\u2062 asked Hunter Biden.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot guilty, your honor,\u201d he responded.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p
