The former&#8217;s conviction is based on previous work and second-hand\u2062 accounts, while the latter two both claim to have their own experiences with, as the Pentagon says, unidentified anomalous\u2062 phenomenon, which is the term the U.S. government uses instead of UFO.<\/p>\n<h3>Commitment to Transparency and Accountability<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cCongress should work to \u200bensure that knowledge is not driven by \u2063fear. Today we are not\u200c just \u2062debating \u200bthe existence of UAPs,\u201d\u2064 Rep. Glenn Grothman (R-WI), chairman of the Subcommittee \u200bon National Security, the Border, and \u2064Foreign Affairs, said in \u200dhis opening remarks. \u201cWe \u2063are \u200cdeliberating on the principles that define our republic, which is a commitment to transparency\u2062 and\u2062 accountability. I look forward \u200dto hearing\u2062 from our witnesses today about ways\u200b we can improve government efficiency and openness when it comes to UAPs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Similarly, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) said,\u200c \u201cWe\u2019re going to uncover \u200dthe cover-up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Grusch,\u200d who\u2062 previously worked \u2063for the National Reconnaissance Office, told lawmakers that \u2063the department has been hiding &#8220;a multi-decade UAP crash retrieval and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ufo-expert-set-to-testify-in-epic-house-hearing\/\" title=\"UFO expert to testify in major House hearing.\">reverse engineering program<\/a>.&#8221; When asked, he said he believed the U.S. had likely been aware of \u201cnonhuman\u201d \u200dactivity \u2064since the 1930s, and he alleged being subjected to retaliatory actions since \u200bcoming\u200d forward but declined to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-admin-snubs-gop-leaders-on-new-iran-diplomacy\/\" title=\"Biden Admin Snubs GOP Leaders on New Iran Diplomacy\">provide specific details<\/a>,\u200c citing an \u200bongoing\u2063 investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was very \u200bbrutal and very \u200cunfortunate, some of \u200cthe tactics they \u2064used to\u2062 hurt me both professionally and personally,\u201d\u2064 he said,\u2063 adding, &#8220;I call it administrative terrorism. That\u2019s their quiver or tool in the toolbox to \u200csilence people, especially the career \u2062government servants who care about their career, care\u200b about\u200d their \u2063clearance, their\u200c reputation to climb \u2063the ladder. \u2064When you threaten that flow, that career path, a lot of people back off, but \u200cI\u2019m here to\u2064 represent those people.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Lawmakers asked the three witnesses how they should continue to seek transparency in the\u2062 matter \u200dof \u200bUAPs, and Grusch declined \u200bto\u2062 answer publicly but said he\u200d could point\u200d them out \u200c&#8221;specifically,&#8221; \u2062while \u2064the other witnesses\u200b deferred \u200bto him on this matter.
